I'm 37w5d pregnant. I had my appointment this morning! Woot!
The kids and I walked the 1.5 miles there. There was a little girl Nolan's age and her sister, who is 5 days older than Leo. Lily. Lily was hilarious! Tiny little blonde thing that just yak yak yak into Leo's ear. Leo doesn't talk much but is used to being chatted at by blonde girls, so he was friendly. Oh, and their family was British? I think the dad might have been Scottish? I have a hard time with accents. She was super adorable and cute with a tiny little voice that didn't stop.
We saw Andrea today. I'm always mixing up who I'm seeing. LOL! My blood pressure was 110/70. Baby's heartrate was 140bpm. Measuring 38 weeks. We noted how, when I lay on my back, you can see the outline of how the baby is lying. We knew he was headdown and loa. Good baby!!
But, I'm GBS+ again. Sh*t! That really ticks me off. I need to read about it again. I was GBS+ last time and got the abx at home because my waters broke 12 hours before labour kicked in.
My 2nd labour was under 3 hours of active labour. The midwives arrived 1.5 hours before my baby was born. To administer abx at that point is useless because they have to be in for 4 hours before they benefit the baby. I'm prone to thrush while breastfeeding, and would hate to get a megadose of abx for NOTHING because my labour was an hour and a half. My last labour was 6 hours active, but my baby was malpositioned. It's a lot to think about anyway. I'm going to go fill the script for the abx though, to have them at the house. What a PITA though to even have to think about it.
After the appointment the kids and I took the long way home and hit up one grocery store because Ontario sweet corn is 6/$1. Then we hit up the other grocery store because ground beef, both medium and lean, is $1.99/lb. We got a package of each. Burgers for dinner! And what's extra will be made into meatloafs and frozen for later use. I'm excited to have frozen meals for the first few weeks!
And now I'm going to take a nap while Leo naps.
Sorry for your emotional rollercoaster and sleep deprivation. It sounds like you've perked up a bit, however. Thanks for sharing all of those great pix! The goat in the stroller is too funny! And I love your comment about the plug mucous! I had the same thing happen last week. It is some crazy stuff, isn't it? You've motivated me to start drinking my RRL tea more often (gonna go make some now) and start EPO. Oh, and I love your crocheted hats.
You walked a 1.5 miles to your appt. LOL Good for you! Sounds like everything is good, except for the GBS+. Ugh! I am sorry you have to deal with that. You know the thing that totally sucks with that is you could be negative when you deliver. Sigh!

Yay for a good appoointment! Too bad about being GBS + again though
Are you going to take the abx right away or just see how things are progressing?

Isn't that weird? Writing prescriptions for drugs that they need wasn't within their scope of practice. It is currently being worked in and, if I were due this time next year, they would be able to write that prescription for their clients.
Sucks about the GBS+.Have you considered foregoing the antibiotics in labour and giving them to babe after birth, or having babe monitored after birth?
Yay for a well positioned baby! Bummer about the GBS results. Are there natural remedies that you can try starting ASAP to clear it up? If you take the abx, could you load up on probiotics after the birth to try and stave off thrush? I'm not sure what you can do to boost baby's bacterial load (extra sloppy smooches?) but that could help.
