I'm glad you had a good appointment today. I do imagine that would be a weird conversation asking someone to hold pressure on your heiny during delivery.
Speaking of student midwives, have you had them at your birth before? I would ideally like to have the least number of people that I don't know in the room, and I feel kind of bad asking that none be there.
Yay! A lodge for Emily. I know I'm going to love following this one. Even more than your quail "lodge" lol. You get the best baby bellies ever, love them!
Sorry about the hemis though. Sounds awful and so very uncomfortable. I hope you get some relief soon.

Amber...I've had students at all my births thus far. I have mixed feelings on them. I recognise and appreciate that students need to learn and I know that I want MY midwives to get that kind of experience when they are training. That's why I've gone with them in the past.
All my students have been sweet, sweet ladies. But, at best they took up space, and at worst they irritated me during labour by watching the monitor (for my hospital birth), not knowing when or when not to touch me, and generally doing things more slowly than my midwife which bothers me while I labour. This time around I have declined students even if they were there because this is my last birth. I want to make it as much mine as possible. I've had 5 students for my 3 births and feel I have done my duty to the birthing community. LOL.
Off to the waterpark with Jord and her brood! Feeling much better in the bottom today. THank goodness!
Glad you had a good appt. today! I agree that would be an interesting convo. about the bottom support but I'm glad your MW has agreed to have your back. Enjoy the water park.

Ooooo 'roids. Man, do I feel your pain. For me, the pain from my hemis was worse than laboring and giving birth. It's the worst. I hope your hiney heals well before this babe comes.
Yay for Emily's lodge-- yahoo! I'm so excited for you and your birth. Bummer about your bum-- I hope you get some relief!

Just now getting around to reading your lodge I had hemi's with my first and my natural health place recommended a zinc supplement. They were gone within a week! Pregnant women are susceptible to zinc deficiency and one of the symptoms of deficiency is those "pain-in-the-rears" I increased my usual zinc supplement for my second pregnancy and didn't get any hemi's! Might be something for you to look into... Hope you get some relief soon!
Emily, did you all have fun at the waterpark? How are you feeling?
