Oops, I didn't see your post, MarysBuns...how can I EASILY tell which posts people have responded to without searching for my name?

DH and I met in Dominican Republic on vacation!!! It was Sept. 2001.
4 months later, we started dating.
We got married in February, 2005.

I woke DH up at 4AM to tell him he was going to be a daddy. He was half asleep. The next morning when he woke up for real, he said, "Was I dream or are your really pregnant?" I told him it was for real. Appropriately enough, it was Father's Day! He seemed pretty excited.

The belly pics were done by my friend Janette, who will be taking over my business (sorta) while I (sorta) go on maternity leave. I have a photography company www.rabbatphoto.com , and this year I'm only going to do a max of 2 weddings per month, since I want to spend time with the baby.

The baby's name will be Julia Lan Vuong. We liked the name Julia, and DH moved here from Vietnam when we were 2, so we wanted a Vietnamese middle name. Lan is his mom's name. When we were trying to think of names, my cousin, whose name means "star" said, "You should pick a name with a cool meaning, like...flower." My husband then said, "Actually, Lan is a direct translation of flower," so that was easy!

Your gallery is beautiful! I wish i was so talented. If i had the funds i would hire you to do my brother's wedding. I know how i often feel overly skimped on not having a photographer at my wedding (after all i did have a big wedding when i didn't intend to and i would have rathered the photographer over the dj!)...and I'm not sure who/if he has hired for his... But i'm sure you are some distance away from Orlando! I'll be honest and say that while i had very little desire for a big wedding myself.. i am completely psyched for his wedding this june.

Anyways.. i love the story of her name. I think its great that you were able to include your preferences, a family name and a suggestion with so little effort.

So i guess now my question becomes, Do you think Julia will be an anniversary gift, since the announcement of her impending arrival was father's day?

Thanks for the compliment on my work, MarysBuns!
DH and I both came up with the first name in the first trimester, but then he decided he wanted to "explore all options," even though I told him that would be unnecessary, since I was set on Julia. He kept trying for Natalie, but I stuck to my guns.

As for Julia being an anniversary gift-yes, we are totally expecting her to come on February 5th!!! Not only is it our anniversary, it is also the day we had to put an offer in on our house so everything 'big' seems to happen for us on that day. When I got pregnant in June, my mom said, "OF COURSE, we should have expected that to happen, since everything exciting happens for you in February."

Glad you all like the name. Surprisingly, so far everyone has liked it.
