Sorry I've been MIA! Quinn is on the boob constantly when he's awake, and I hate trying to type one handed. I've been reading though, despite my lack of posts on this board lately.
Just a bit of an update....
Quinn is a dream baby. He sleeps really well, waking once or twice a night to nurse, get changed, and then goes back to sleep. We've been bed-sharing since the very beginning, and I think that helps. He's a very snugly child, and wants to be on or close to someone at all times. My baby-wearing gear will NOT go astray with this baby! Oh, and he's nursing so well! I had so much trouble with Jesse...with his latch and with pain and cracked nipples. Quinn pretty well latched himself and I have had no pain or discomfort from nursing whatsoever! My only issue thus far in that regard is deciding how much to let Jesse nurse. He's loving the new milk!
His bruising and eyes have healed well from the birth. There's only a tiny bit of red left in his right eye. His belly button is still healing though. The cord stump fell off about a week ago, but the belly button underneath was not quite healed. I've gone so far as to use a bit of polysporin and cover it with a bandaid, but even that didn't seem to help. So now I'm just leaving it open and gently cleaning it with a gentle wash cloth (dabbing, not rubbing). Oh, and he's gaining weight quite well...He's 15 days old and I would dare say he's past his birth weight (he lost nearly 10% at 3 days).
As for me, the healing has gone much better this time, even though there was probably even more suturing than with Jesse. I'm not taking anything for pain at this point and everything is functioning as it should be with no pain.
And lastly, my cousin has finished editing the birth photos so I have a private FB album for them, if anyone is interested in seeing them. Same as with the video, just message me your FB info so I can add you as a friend, and then I'll add you to the album. There is some nudity, but no really graphic birth photos, since all the action happened underwater.
I absolutely LOVE the new pic in your siggy. You look amazing. And YAY you sound like you are doing so well.
