Thanks guys!!
It was SO hard and so intense. I may have cussed at them at told me to take me to the hospital!
The doula is going to write up my birth story but to give you the basics!
I had my first contraction at 8:45 with a little spotting show so we called because it felt exactly like the contractions with the pitocin with Tyler. Nothing but strong back pain. We got to the birth center at 10:30 and I was 4cm, 70-80% and -1. I labored through them for a couple hours and she rechecked me at close to 1pm and I had no change. He had actually gone up some.... I knew it was becase I was clinching and tensing up with every contraction. So I started to really try hard to open up and stuff. She let me get in the tub to try to help with this. She checked me and I was 100% and 6cm a little bit later and so I had made some progress. I was hurt so bad. SO BAD. I started cussing at everyone telling them to take me to the ****ing hospital. I begged them all. They all got rather stern with me. I tried to pee and ended up in and out of the tub just trying to do what I could to deal with the pain. I got back in the tub and was 9 cm and my water broke and she said I could start pushing. Pushing was MUCH better because then I at least had an outlet for the pain instead of just trying not to close up! I pushed on my hands and knees for most of it and she had me flip at the very end to my back. He had a nuchal arm..... I kept telling them my butt was going to explode because I could feel it so swollen. After about 30 min of pushing he came out at 3:34am ! He is 8lb 6oz and head 14 3/4 inch. I tore on both sides of my labia and had to get stitched. I had a hard time peeing for like 5 hours so they finally let me go home after I passed a little. It felt like I had a UTI. owwwie. I tore a little on my perinum too but not enough to stitch. I think had I not been in the water it would have been so much worse.
So he is close to a pound bigger than Tyler. Bigger head and compound presentation but we did it! It was a lot harder than I expected but the doula said that was to be expected since I went from 4 to complete so fast. But I didn't expect to be that "weak" but I know now it was because it was so intense and fast now but at the time I felt like I was just not strong enough
He's doing well. I'm rather hurting.... but OBVIOUSLY so much better than feeling like my guts will fall out from a csection.
ill get better details later. thanks for the support ladies
Congrats! So excited that you got your VBAC!
sounds like a good birth overall, esp as there was no c-sec!
just reread your birth story from DS #1 and can I just say that after reading your vbac it gives me such hope that all will go well for mine. DS was a bit crooked for me as well, trying to come ear first almost, but this one is head on and your story gives me much hope. Glad things went well.
