Hubby seemed worried about me today, so made me go take a long nap (got a few hours) and has been trying his best to give me 'rest' by doing laundry and taking care of JJ. Its adorable but I'm going to have to redo the load of her clothes... shhh don't tell him that.
I had hoped that the nap and zen time would make me feel better, but really I'm just feeling super blah! No appetite, but I'll eat if food is presented to me... I don't have a lack of energy at all but the idea of doing anything is just blah... and generally just uncomfortable as heck! I seriously am NOT this much of a whiner, I just don't know what to do with myself.
Just gotta make it through the rest of tonight right?
I'm hoping and praying for you that the magic shake does the trick!
Good luck this morning! Baby will be here soon. I'll be thinking of you.
I really hope it works for you.
Well! Just got back from the midwives!
She did another stretch and sweep and termed this one "aggressive" which resulted in a few interesting moments. (and a wince or ten on my part) First and foremost, it would seem we have an arm issue again, Little Liam decided to 'push back' while she was doing the stretch and she suspects the little guy is going to keep his arm there. At least we know in advance this time so when (if) they break my water they can make sure there is no pinning issue like with Jayde!
Second, I was a tight 3cm from the last sweep, no real changes, but she said with today's stretch I was closer to a 4-5cm. There was some heavy bleeding right away which she took as a good sign. So I was packed up with my magic drink mix (I'll post the recipe below) and told to go home drink the mix and relax for two hours then drink the mix again ... and they'll see me again later to deliver my baby LOL!
The drink... OMG SOOOO GROSS!!!! I thought after crampbark, and cohosh there was nothing that could make me gag... apparently lemon verbena does! ROFL It probably didn't help that I only had crunchy peanut butter so had to take the time to chew my drink *shudder* rather than the old college chug! It's only been about 10 mins and so I'm not expecting anything yet but I'm excited to see how long it does take! Being only 41 weeks 5 days means -if- this doesn't work I still can try it again on Saturday morning, since they've set Saturday afternoon as the time for my pit induction should nothing else work (that would be exactly 42 weeks) But knowing how much we're avoiding that, we're all sure this will work today!!!
200ml Apricot Juice (or any juice if you can't get that specifically)
25ml of Almond Butter or Peanut Butter (avoid crunchy!!!!)
25ml of Castor Oil
.25ml of Verbena
Mix and drink immediately (blender works best)
An aside... no amount of coffee/juice/water/peanutbutter/cake will take the smell of lemon cleaning products out of your head after you drink it... so if your not a fan of lemony scented things... well you'll suffer like I am ROFL! I'm going to go finish up the last of the laundry in the hopes of keeping my mind off things until noon when I take the second dose.
Oh! and since I'm on that positive thinking kick... since I WILL be having the baby today, Jayde and Liam will have birthdays exactly 1 month apart!!!! How cool is that! :yahoo:
My midwife recommends a very similar "cocktail" for induction, and she's had it work 100% of the time! Fingers crossed that it works for you and your little one is here soon!
I really hope it kicks starts things for you. Fingers crossed
Quick update, at the hospital, waiting on dialation yay baby.
