What an amazing story! I am so happy for you! When I was 42 weeks with my DD, and had given up and expected to be induced the next day, my water broke out of nowhere, and I started laughing too. I was giggling my head off and dancing around with total glee and abandon, so I know the feeling! Sounds like a super fast labor., I am glad it all went so well! I am writing down the recipe for the shake, because I may need it come Monday! It sounds like a winning combo, but it also sounds wretched to drink. Thank you for posting the recipe! I look forward to your pics. It sounds like your little guy has quite the personality. Glad all is going so well for you all!
So glad things went well for you and Liam. That's great that you got home so fast

Gosh I love that they released you at 1am just three hours after having a baby.I was LOLing at your description of leaving your vagina & getting out. They say that labor is much more intense after your water breaks, sounds like your experience confirms that. Enjoy your babymoon, and don't let all those visitors interrupt too much!

Wow... Honestly I have to say it doesn't matter how many times you have kids the first week is always crazy! Liam is officially 5 days old, and had his third post-natal visit from the midwives this morning.
My milk came in late I think, though everything I've read says I was within the norm, as it is Liam doubled up on his feedings the second there was something to be had, which means I've literally had the little piglet strapped to my boobs non stop for the last day and a bit! LOL (I'll explain the piglet reference in a sec) For all the feedings, he managed to loose the standard 10% of birth weight and was 7lbs 3oz this morningwhich though I know is totally normal and not anything to worry about... freaked me out! I know I just have to be patient and consistent with my breast feeding and it will all work out, but with a history of issues with my breasts doing as they should, I'm paranoid. Though he shows no sign of dehydration, there was urate crystals in his diaper this morning. My midwives didn't think this was cause for concern given how well he feeds (they stayed through a whole feeding to double check)
We've started to call him our little piglet because since my milk came in, he's been non stop feeding and right when we first get a latch he snorts just like a piglet! Its so adorable, its like he's half growling, half snorting at the breast as if to say "Get ready you, I'm hungry!" LOL He's still got that laid back personality and sleeps like a dream, and almost never cries! (unless he's cold)
Drawbacks this week: Jayde seems to have gotten a cold at school and immediately came home and sneezed on all of us infecting the whole family! People may laugh but honestly I feel worse from the cold than recovering from the birth! Liam seems the only one -not- effected, and the midwives said that's a good sign that the breastfeeding is working as it should. Hubby goes back to work tomorrow, it was a transition when my mom left, settling in just the family. Now I'm going to have to adjust to him going back to work full time and being on my own eek! I'm sure we'll be fine, and with Jayde's school ending this week and soccer ending next weekend, there will be far more down time around here.
I managed to upload a few pictures (not the best) but I promise I'll get on that soon!
Just Minutes old, after being rubbed down and bundled up.
A few hours old, just getting ready to leave the hospital.

sounds like things are going pretty well for you both. As for feeding issues, I so understand. Little Willow is unlike either of my other 2 kiddos and I just want to quit every day.
