I hope you are feeling better! I was pukey during the initial stages of labour, maybe you are getting it all out of your system now!

Well that goes down as the worst night ever in my books! I'll save you all the massive TMI, but suffice it to say by 7am I didn't have a drop of water left in my body despite my forcing myself to drink small sips just to keep from dry heaving. The "cramping" had turned into crazy contractions every 3 mins and lasting almost 2 mins... So we called the midwife to come over and check me out. I figured, if I wasn't in labor I needed something before I ended up in the hospital on IV for dehydration.

My midwife Theresa was on call, and God bless that woman she was so understanding! She knew something was off the second she saw me and I was seven shades of transparent... She joked that even for a white girl I was PALE! (she's of African decent, and likes to poke fun at my white self LOL)

She first did a check of baby, and other than him being VERY naughty and sitting OP, his heart-rate was strong and healthy and he even kicked a few times to announce his displeasure at being 'spied' on again. While she was listening (she listened for about 10 mins to make sure all was well) I had four wicked contractions, which she said she could see and feel which made me just a bit hopeful that this was it. With my contractions clearly visable and stuff, she decided to do a cervical check before giving me a shot of gravol since if I was blustering towards labor she didn't want to give me gravol and make baby groggy.

Nothing... not a single change, though she said I could be more effaced than when Ann checked me yesterday. *headdesk* At this point even my midwife was confused because my body was giving EVERY sign of labor without doing a darn thing! Already its been 5 weeks, and if I go to 40-42 we're looking at another 4! 9 weeks in total of torture for nothing. I'm the first to admit I'm a huge sissy, but I think just about any one would be in this situation. I burst into tears and the first thing that crossed my mind was that fate had it out for me to never have a positive birth experience. And you know something... I'd be fine with that so long as baby comes healthy and happy... and SOON!

Midwife thinks my contractions were so painful because of dehydration, so gave me the shot of gravol, and I was ordered to take one sip of water/pedialite/Gatorade after every contraction and to sleep as much as possible. She said she has a sneaking suspicion that this is actually gearing up for something, and given my fast labor history is pretty sure when things DO finally kick in, its going to be epic quick. I hope for the sake of my sanity she is right because I've about given up and am half tempted to just beg for things I KNOW better than to beg for (ie: just cut me open and take the baby out already! and while your at it take that traitorous uterus with him!)

Poor hubby didn't get much sleep either, what with my being up every 3 mins all night sobbing and stuff, and he's been a total angel all day taking care of DD so I can sleep (which I did! like the dead!) He was worried I was sleeping too deeply when he brought food in for me and I didn't even respond until he shook me awake. I still can't keep anything but liquid down, and only in small doses, but the overwhelming nausea is gone thank goodness! The contractions are less painful (probably because I'm more hydrated) but still ticking away in the background. I'm going to take Theresa's advice take a gravol and cup of RRL tea and have a tepid bath later, since that is what set everything off last night... who knows it might do something productive and at least this time if it causes nausea I've got the gravol in my system before it hits and not trying to take it AFTER and just wasting it.

And yes... my butt hurts from the shot :P you'd think that wouldn't bother me with everything else but geesh that stings! I'm going to avoid needing that again any time soon!

Yeah, life has been super crazy around these parts... My mom and sister arrived this week, and its been a flurry of visits and trying to figure out where everyone is staying! Between that and the fact Hubby has been sent to every rinky-dink podunk town between here and the US border and back.... I'm running on my last nerves! LOL

Oddly enough, once the surprise vomiting cleared up (I'm still thinking food poisoning) ALL of my stupid no-doing-anything-just-annoying-me contractions stopped. I haven't had a single solitary twinge or contraction since! SOOOO weird! I've simply resigned myself to be pregnant forever and stop wishing it will happen soon. *sigh* At least I'm not dealing with all the issues anymore, so it makes it more bearable.

Hubby is hoping that something will kick start tonight since he has tomorrow off and will be home ALL day, and my Dad is seconding that since he flies in for the long weekend (and only the long weekend) and would like to see the baby while he's here.... myself... I'm not putting stock in my body doing anything its supposed to... I'll hereby be known as the pregnant lady forever *sob*

and total FML moment... My four year old daughter turned to my sister this morning and announced that "Mommy has a big fat tummy because my brother lives there... your tummy is big too.. do you have a baby in you?".... My sister is a virgin... she's hiding in my bathroom doing her makeup right now and I have NO idea how to make things better... *sob*
