I had written a long response and accidentally lost it, go figure.I'll try to recap what I had originally written.
(hugs) to you, Momma. You are an amazing woman, you are strong and fierce to have made it this far (this coming from someone else who went through painful contrax that did nothing).
I urge you to say some mantras to yourself, meditate on your cervix opening, get your family to say mantras to you, and reread chapter one of Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.
I have a friend who just gave birth to her 6th child at 41 weeks. The baby was big (9lbs, 21in) and she did it natural. But it was really hard on her to wait so long. But her baby DID come, and your baby WILL come. He just needs to bake a little longer.
Had my weekly checkup with the Midwife today, and got to bring my little sister along to see how it works :P
Everything looks fine, normal, and generally uneventful, Little guy decided to do a few spins so he's no longer sitting OP (now LOP), but will likely spin a few times more before I actually have him (he's so darn active its crazy)
I'm trying to enjoy having my mom and sister back for a visit, dad arrives tomorrow night so should be non stop busy all long weekend. Tonight we're taking advantage of the great weather and BBQ'ing up some steaks and corn, Jayde is excited to have everyone here for a big meal so she's running crazily around the house as I type :P
I'm just looking forward to some grilled pineapple... cause right now that's all I want to eat LOL Someone told me pineapple kick starts labor... I just think it tastes darn goooooood!

At least you'll get a yummy meal out of it even if the pineapple doesn't work. Sounds like you've got plenty to keep you busy in the next few days.

oh that sounds so yummy! I hope you are able to relax with family and have a good time.

The pineapple (or should I say pineapples since I've ate so many lately) were in fact wonderfully delicious! They didn't cause labor (not even a twinge of a contraction) but were darn tooting good to munch on! My sister got a good giggle out of watching me devour them everytime one was brought within a few feet of me! Natures candy... mmmmmm
The constant visitors however is slowly wearing on me, while I love and adore my family... if one more person tells me I have to have the baby by ______ I might freak out and start screaming at people. They mean well, and I understand they all want to meet this little one before returning home, but I didn't move to another province, they did... not my duty to provide a baby on demand! That being said... if I could I SOOOOOO would!
I've basically taken to gardening my preggo butt off whenever we've got downtimes between visits. My sister is pretty much staying here 24/7 (grr) so that isn't as often as I'd like, but alas what can you do right? Got to go out to the Cheesecake Cafe tonight, and munched on some turtles cheesecake which made my night. Yes I realize my whole life seems to revolve around food lately but what can I say... I love to eat and since I've only gained a whopping 11lbs this whole pregnancy, I feel justified in a few 'treats'.
Hubby's birthday comes up this Wednesday, and honestly I've been a horrible wife and haven't planned a darn thing. We gave him his gifts today since my family (most of them) will have left back to BC before his birthday rolls around. He's currently playing call of duty and I'm being sweet and not whining about the sounds of gunfire making the baby pummel my spleen! (Ok so I'm not a totally horrible wife)
On a TMI note, after WEEEKS of having hubby take an absolutely not stand on DTD.... He finally broke! I've been trying to take full advantage of it, and now he thinks I'm using him as a route to get baby out! LOL silly man doesn't realize while that would be a nice bonus I just really miss all contact with him! (I've been "cut off" since 24 weeks... though before that there was morning sickness, and Christmas and well... lets just say its been a LONG while) I'm hoping his new video game won't interfere with my fun... but realistically I think I'm going without for a few days at least :P Maybe I'll get lucky and have the baby ... or maybe he'll decide the xbox can wait :P

So funny about your DH and DTD. We have the same issue here with being cut off. I think he forgets there will be a a minimum of 6 weeks more after it is all over.
