How do you feel about bedsharing? He may just want a warm body next to him. I would have lost my mind had I not taken Jesse into bed with me (at 7 1/2 months...I was pretty resistant at first!)

Could you try wearing him during the day to give him that comfort?

Well its been ok so far with DH going back to work! The biggest issue is keeping Kieran entertained honestly. Its too cold to go outside, and I'm not comfortable taking them both out places yet so we're stuck in the house. There's only so much to do in here and he gets bored and cranky :/ I suppose that will change with time though... but for now its difficult.

Rowan hasn't been awake for as long at night, thankfully! He seems to be falling asleep sooner; he still wakes up to eat every 2-3 hours but at least goes back to sleep ok (so far). He has periods during the day when he wants to nurse constantly! I think part of it is that he's still sleepy so falls asleep before he can get enough to eat and so then he wants to eat again 45 minutes later. Some of it though is I think he just wants to nurse. If I hold him at all he turns his head and starts rooting, he knows its me and wants to nurse. I feel like he's attached to me for a good portion of the day! Its ok though, I don't mind. I remember DS did the same thing at first and then spaced out his feedings after a few weeks.

I have been worried about ppd too, but I've felt surprisingly good so far. Its such a drastic change from how I felt after DS. I make sure to take a nap when Kieran does too (as long as Rowan's also sleeping) because I know how bad sleep deprivation can affect your mood.

I am glad things are going better than you thought. Sleep deprivation can for sure affect your mood. I know with Isaiah I litterally felt like I was going crazy. Hang in there, it will get better!

Oh and I'm not opposed to the idea of bed sharing, but I don't think it would actually work well for us in practice :/ I don't think I would sleep because I'd be too conscious of him next to me, and DH sleeps too heavily and turns in his sleep so I'd be worried about him rolling on him or something. I am sure Rowan would like it though lol!
