I'm glad your son feels better. I hope you haven't gotten sick! I woke up with some sore sinuses this morning. Not good.
Oh no, Sarah! Sorry your not feeling well. Hope it gets better fast. I am very relieved to say nobody else in the house has gotten ill including me. Keeping fingers crossed we all stay that way until after birth day. I had my first natural childbirth class last night with my doula. It was awesome! I haven't done any childbirth classes since having my first and never thought I would need it after having 4 kids but here I am and I'm learning a lot. I am getting a lot less anxious about doing labor without interventions and super excited to see what my body can do! My hubby was great at the class and even said after, "this is going to be such a different experience than all of our other births!" Yes! He gets it, it is going to be different and so empowering! I have an appointment tomorrow so I will update again after that.
Yay Dave....I knew I liked you for some reason...ha ha j/k I'm glad you enjoyed the class! I'm so excited for you!
Went to my 37 week check-up today. I am measuring right on at 37cm. I was a little worried that I had gained 4 lbs when I got on the scale at first. Apparently my doc was standing right behind me and had put his foot on the scale. He tricked both me and the nurse. The final weigh-in I actually lost a lb. It was pretty funny that he would do that, I guess he was feeling playful first thing this morning :) He did an ultrasound and everything looks great with baby. She had a hold of her ear. I thought this was funny because my DH has a nervous habit of playing with his ear. Several of my children have come out of the womb with the same habit. They all have really floppy, foldable ears and I think it is cute that they play with them like their daddy, apparently it starts sooner than birth!
That's cute about your family and their ears. :)
Glad to hear you had a nice appointment!
I am glad your appt went well and that you are liking your natural childbirth classes.
I cannot believe it is almost the end of March already. This month has flown by! It will be baby time before I know it. I am feeling a little more prepared now. Got the thank you's from my shower done and addressed, now I just have to make it to the post office on Monday to get them mailed. I have most of my hospital bag packed as well as the baby's and my kids are working on packing an overnight bag today just in case I go into labor and they have to stay at a friend's house overnight.
I am currently sitting in a silent house, ahhhhhhh! My son went swimming with a friend and my DH took my DD on a daddy/daughter date to go bowling while my 2 youngest are napping (yes, my 6 year old still needs a nap on the weekends). My husband and I decided a couple of years ago that it was very important to start having one-on-one time with each of our kids. For Christmas in 2009 we gave them each a gift certificate to choose an activity of their choice with the parent of their choice as their big gift from us. My oldest chose an amusement park for the day with Mom, my daughter chose ice skating and a movie with Mom, my 2nd son chose a water park with Dad and my youngest chose going to the Barnum and Bailey circus with Dad. They also got to stay in a hotel overnight with that parent so unlimited cartoons, jumping on the bed, swimming, junk food, staying up all hours of the night, basically everything they don't get to do at home :) It was so great, we were really able to make some fun memories together. In fact the kids liked it so much they wanted us to do that for Christmas again this year but with the baby coming that wouldn't be possible because I BF exclusively. Would be a little hard to do some of those activities with a newborn. Anyways, so this year instead we are just doing smaller outings with the kids (2-3 hours). It has been something that has helped bring us closer together as a family so I thought I would share it with you ladies.
Hope you are all having a great weekend and we'll see if that giant moon tonight makes anyones water break! Crossing fingers for some of you who are past date!
Oh yea, I forgot I was going to ask you guys about fun things you have done for dates while hugely pregnant. My hubby and I do weekly dates (we are each in charge of planning a month at a time) but next weekend is our 12th anniversary and I wanted to do something special and it is my turn to plan. I know we are going to go out to eat at a nice restaurant but what else could we do that would be fun but not too strenuous? Last night we went out with our friends and had dinner and went to a play. Any ideas would be great!
that sounds like a great thing to do with the kids. I'm hoping to start that soon with ours.
As for an anniversary celebration, I have no idea, but congrats on 12 years!
