That first nursing pic should make you the poster child for VBAC. How gorgeous!!! Did you have Stef for your doula? I think I remember reading about your VBAC when it happened.
What a fantastic story with your son! Wishing you all the best for your second successful VBAC!
Yes, Stef was my doula. :)
This time around I've hired a doula in my town. Due to the weather, it's possible that I won't make it to my chosen hospital (an hour away), so even if I end up with one of the most dreaded OBs imaginable in this town, I'll still have my doula!
Oh man, what cute kids! I want to kiss your family doc, he sounds like he's got his head on straight! Is he delivering this baby too?
Yes, he's my doctor again. I really do like him, but my first choice would have been to have this baby at home with a midwife, but Nova Scotia is in this weird stage of midwifery. They decided that in order for it to be fully legislated and financially covered, that they need to do trial midwifery practices in only three towns. If you don't live in the immediate area, then you don't get a midwife. They've completely ignored all the research on safety and the models in other areas and decided to do their own... it's ridiculous.
welcome and thanks for sharing your stories. you look gorgeous in the pics following your DS's birth...hope your upcoming birth is just as wonderful!
Woot welcome to your lodge mama. What a great story, I love your OB as well, too bad more of them weren't like that.
I have to agree that your first nursing pic should be in a magazine, absolutely beautiful.
He's actually not an OB, he's a GP.. I think that's why he's good. ;)
I guess I'll talk a bit about this pregnancy. My hubby and I decided that we would just let baby #3 happen when he or she happened. I found out I was pregnant when my son was a few months shy of two, in June of last year. We were happy, but it was odd to not have the same rush of excitement that we had with the first two, I guess it becomes old hat by pregnancy #4 and baby #3!
This pregnancy has thus far been uneventful. I was a little sick for the first 16 weeks or so, but it wasn't too bad. We haven't officially found out the gender, but at the routine ultrasound we're fairly certain we saw multiple shots of boy parts (they won't tell you the gender at this ultrasound). So I've been calling the baby a "he" but we could be surprised.
I had the GBS swab done last week, so that's one of the last things I'm waiting for (I've been negative before, but I've had a strange feeling that I might be positive this time.. I have no idea why I think this). The other thing that makes me a little uneasy is my baby's wiggle room on the inside. He was head down at my last appointment, but I will still often feel hiccups up high and what appears to be a head near my ribs occasionally. I hope he settles into a nice head-down LOA position soon. :)
Sending Neg vibes! And stay head down vibes! Cheeky buddy.
Do you have a personal feeling on when lo will make his/her appearance?
