Latest two updates - from this morning: Started contrax last night. Were 3 min apart for 3 hours. Slowed down around 10:30p and I was able to sleep. Contrax now about 5 - 10 min apart. Hoping to wait for baby at least one more week! I guess we'll see. Labor was so intense last night that I had my in laws pick up David. I hve a mw appt at 2p today.

    After mw appt:

1 cm dilated baby at 0 station but cervix still long. Mw worried all the contrax are wearing me out. Gave me a sleeping pill to take if I can't sleep on my own. Supposed to drink half glass of red wine and sit in a warm bath tub as long as I can stand it. Going to my in laws to sit in their jacuzzi tub for the evening. Will keep u posted.

Sounds like your body is giving you a workout. Hope you are able to get some rest. TFS your story!

How exciting things are happening for you! Hmm... half glass of red wine and a soak in a hot tub... that sounds good to me, I like the way your mw thinks, lol!

Actually got close to 8 hours off and on last night. Started spotting red blood but mw says not to worry unless it's enough to drip down my legs (nice thing to think about..). Just ate some cheerios with banana and am laying on the couch resting. Doing everything I can to keep contrax low. Mw said to call if I can't calm them down and they'll put me in the hospital on an iv and some sleep meds. I love that they are willing to do everything they can to stop my labor until I'm 37 weeks. I really want to get her to full term - especially since it's flu season and also I can't birth in the midwifery center if I'm under 37 weeks.

Hardest part is having no control over house work and cooking meals. DH is amazing but he just doesn't do as good of a job as I do!! Not complaining...just resting...

I had contractions at 36w and they actually delivered my baby. I was soooo scared that something would be wrong. He ended up with jaundice but was fine. I really hope you can make it a little while longer. You know I read an article about the urge to push before 10cm. I will try to find it today and post it. It really isn't as dangerous as your doc last time made it sound. What birth classes did you try this time?

Of course, they are willing to deliver the baby now if needed - just trying to do our best to keep her in until 37 weeks. Resting is going ok. I have friends and hubby helping out a lot. In the grand scheme of things, asking for help for just one week isn't too bad - so grateful I only have 5 days left!

So far so good - contrax stay pretty steady at 10 - 20 min apart lasting around one minute. That's as long as I stay pretty still. I contract every time I get up to go to the bathroom or get something to eat - so try not to move too much. Had a lot of contrax that kept waking me up in the middle of the night last night. I kept thinking - just go back to sleep... Otherwise, slept pretty good.

Birth classes we took this time were natural childbirth classes given by this woman who has been a homebirth midwife for over 45 years and has birthed literally thousands of babies. There was a guy in the class who was having his first baby - and she delivered him when he was born! She was amazing - teaching us all about control and relaxation, pushing, preparing your body...

Actually DH was not into me trying to go natural until after we started her classes. Now he's totally on board with it! Oh and yeah - post that article if you find it! Would love to read!
