Just about threw a tantrum at Logan's school and so glad I didn't. When he got off the bus he said 'Mama, ow-a' and showed me his thumb which sported 2 bumps, one with puss and the other black. The bus driver said he'd picked off his bandaid. So when I got him in the house I looked in his bookbag for the note that would surely be there telling me what had happened. Nada. I went to look up the school's number (I know, bad me I should have it on my phone) but unable to find the phone I packed the kids into the van and drove over to the school. I got there just as the ***. principal was leaving and told her why I was there. My plan, be nice and just explain that I know things happen at school and while I don't need a note for every injury I'd like one for those that require medical care. Didn't get that out. After I told her why I'd come (dropped off without a note explaining injury) she called for his teacher. When his teacher got there she said he'd gotten off the bus this morning and said 'Ow-a' and had been picking at his hand. She said they were ant bites. I had had no idea the ants had gotten his hand as well as his feet. I felt so bad, but also so glad I didn't blow up at anyone, though it was a lot of effort (before the teacher came). When the ***. teacher came up his teacher told her I hadn't known. So left, came home and made him an appt, which is on Sunday. I looked at his feet and half of them have puss as well. Poor guy. Tried to get a hold of my terminators, but of course their website is down. I get so much complimentary service and don't want to go over, but if I can't get in tonight I might just have to call and hope I can clearly communicate that I want to know how many comp. service calls I have left.

On a bright note, DH passed his physical training (PT) test today with his best run time since joining the AF! We celebrated with brownies and ordered in pizza. Yum!

No fun. What kind of ant bites are they? Benadryl usually works to help clear things up. I'm allergic to ant bites, particularly red or mountain ants and I have the same reaction you are describing. Benadryl cream will help the itch and burn go away. I don't know what else a Dr would do in this situation other than clean the pussy bites. At most prescribe an antibiotic.

His bites haven't seemed to bother him at all, at least not till today. His feet ones he's left alone completely, but they're still puss filled. I don't know if there is something they can do for them or not, but I just want to be sure, kwim? I don't know what kind they are but my guess would be fire ants even though they look more black than red to me.

I think I'm going to go for some more brownies. I'm getting sleepy and its only 6:16pm!

Ok brownies yum! As for the ant bites, I'd go for either a baking soda/water paste (works great on everything from bee stings to mosquito bites and ant bites) It will neutralize the poisons, calm the itch and sooth any sores. You can also use garlic or cucumber directly on the bites -if- they are not open wounds... otherwise that would sting like a mofo. Black tea soak is good for bites as well as the tanic acid will neutralize the bites. Borax soaks and aloe treatments are also recommended for fire ant bites specifically, though I've never tried the borax myself.

Hope little guy gets better soon! Bug bites suck!

went to L&D tonight as I had cloudy urine and hot pee. Sorry. Turns out I'm just dehydrated. yay me. However not sure what it is about going there, but I feel like once I get hooked up I start having contractions every 5 mins. Thankfully I think their monitor was broke as during one of them the meter read 0 at the height of it, lol. I didn't mind. I didn't want to get stuck there. At least there's not UTI, but I promised to drink more and have been. In fact I've been to the bathroom about every 10 mins since leaving and all symptoms have left. Figures

Ah! Poor baby boy! My DS loves playing with the ants and I would freak out if something like that happened! I hope he gets better soon.

Glad you are feeling better now! I find if I put ice in my water I drink more of it, probably because I just want to get to the ice though, lol.

well his bites were infected. DH went ahead and bought fire ant killer in case my other plan didn't work. I haven't checked yet. Still the doc tried to be funny and with his big google head gear on looking at the bites said in a semi-serious voice "It looks like these ants didn't wash their hands" Not sure if I was supposed to laugh so I just stared on in silence.

As for me, all is well today. I've drunk more than 8C of water today and feel much better than yesterday. Even baby is more active which I like even more. I'm still hoping that she'll come on Thurs but I feel like I could go for week still.

I recently found drinking through a straw helps me drink more.

I'm glad you are feeling better, dehydration is no fun. Your poor son! That sounds awful. Kids are such troopers - if I were bit up like that I'd be crying like a baby.
