I know it doesn't mean much coming from me because I had pit and an epi both times... But only you know what is best for you when you're in the situation. I commend you for doing what you felt would give the best outcome for yourself and your baby... And you have a beautiful healthy baby to show for it, which is all that really matters in the end!![]()
Thanks, ladies. today I'm feeling okay with it again.
update nak We're home! DS1 is completely in love and wants to help with everything. DS2 is jealous when I hold LO but curious when I put him down (he really missed mommy).
LO is doing well. My milk came in last night and he's not even close to keeping up. I'm super engorged. Ow. But, his discharge weight was 6lbs 11oz, so only down 3oz.He seems like such an easy baby. He just took a 90min nap, unswaddled, in the moses basket. I hope he sleeps that easily tonight! He also rarely cries.
I'm supposed to take him in for his first ped. visit tomorrow or Monday. Not sure yet which I'll do. tomorrow seems too early, but Monday seems a little late.

I love his little expressions, too cute!
I understand how you feel about the epi. I had back pain for 7 months after I had dd and really don't want to do it again. But I also recognize if labor stalls after water has broken, an epi may become necessary to help me relax. I also have to remind myself that I am not other women - there are things they can do that I can't and things I can do they can't. What other women might have been able to do in your situation isn't important. What you were able to do is.
Don't feel upset over your choice - it was the right one for you in that situation.
sounds like things are going ok. Hope he keeps being such an easy baby for you

We'll have to work on nighttime, but half of that is my cough keeping me awake. He naps fine in the co-sleeper and did a nice 2.5 hour stretch last night. I just wish I'd been able to sleep during it!

Ouch! I feel for you hon, I had tearing and lots of swelling after the birth of DD and I remember how sore I was for like 2 weeks!
It sucks you didn't get the ideal birth you wanted, but you know what? You got a gorgeous, healthy little boy and that's what really counts. Congrats!!!
Sorry you didn't get the birth you wanted, but don't feel bad about it! Everyone has different births and we all want the same thing, healthy, happy babies. He is one super cutie too! So glad Bfing is going so well.
