welcome to your lodge. thanks for sharing pics! that is awesome about getting lots of cloth!
I agree that the doula is worth every penny. That book idea is just wonderful! I wish I thought of that for Zoe to do for Liam.
It's not too late :)
I found the book on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Big-Sibling-Bo.../dp/0307461971
welcome to your lodge (I'm apparently running a little late). I hope this birth is everything you've dreamed of. :D
Today I had my midwife appointment (37 weeks, 1 day along) and everything was good. I put on 5 lbs from my last appointment where I was weighed (34 weeks, 5 days along) so my total weight gain for this pregnancy so far is around 27 lbs, I gained 29 lbs with DD from start to my last OB appointment at 40 weeks with her. Brooke's heart rate was in the 140s and she's still head down with her butt and back outward on my right hand side. I did my GBS swab so they just have to send that off to the lab and I have to just wait to hear back. If it comes up positive then I'll be doing their garlic remedy thing then retesting, but I'm not too worried, I wasn't positive with DD so I'm hoping it comes back negative. The best part I think was being able to give them the cash to pay them off :woohoo: (even though they're waiting on a $500 check from a scholarship I won) but since they know it's on it's way we don't have to pay anymore towards the midwives. :D
My midwife mentioned she will have me do garlic suppositories before my first GBS swab. Is that what your midwife does? I had never heard of that technique and when I told my DH about it he laughed and laughed. I love my hippie midwife and I can't argue with results, but I can't get over feeling a bit ridiculous about garlic suppositories.
It certainly sounds strange, but I had no less than 3 care providers (one a nurse for an OB) suggest garlic- not even suppositories, but simply putting a clove of garlic up there- for a recurrent yeast infection. The idea made me chuckle (and was too weird for me to try at the time) but there might just be something to it.
Hooray for scholarships, that's great!
I'm not sure if it would involve sticking garlic anywhere or eating more of it.... hopefully I don't have to find out.
Yay for a good appointment... and for scholarship money! I had never heard the garlic thing. Interesting.
