A little update--castor oil works quickly and thoroughly! Sticking close to the bathroom is a must. Just when I think I'm all cleaned out, turns out I'm not. I want to take a shower but I think I should wait til I'm not so rumbly in the tumbly. The ctx are picking up and are a little more painful down low.
I feel like puttering around doing stuff but at the same time, I don't. I'm glad no one is here (though my mom will be home soon.)
I've read a few more CO stories and a big worry like with Molly's DH's cousin is that labor can start quickly and surprisingly suddenly w/o the mama really realizing it. Wouldn't it be funny if after all these weeks of waiting I go into labor and don't even recognize it?

This is all great news! I've been stalking your lodge since last night and am very excited for you. I went into labor with DS the evening after I took castor oil (I took it in the afternoon), and I think I was around where you are in terms of cervical readiness. So it all sounds very promising for you!

Glad to hear that the castor oil might be workin a little magic.
Have you lost any more of the mucous plug? Any spotting?

i'm so excited for you!!!
it would be sorta funny, but wait until your mom gets home at least if you're gonna deliver there
Glad your CO is actually doing something for you tho! The 14th is a good day to have a baby
With the DS that Castor Oil did work with,I decided to go to the hospital to see if it was the real thing around 1:30 a.m.,I got to the hospital at 3:00 a.m. and had him at 8:13 a.m. . His original due date was May 14th too
Nothing new to report. I spent about an hour bouncing on the ball while playing Wii Mario Kart. I took a nice shower & dried my hair, put on mascara (a must-have for me, always waterproof), and put on decent clothes. NOW I'm ready.
My tummy has settled. I ate yogurt and some egg salad on toast and am trying to drink lots of water to rehydrate. I hesitate to take more CO--my insides are already liquified!
I haven't seen any more plug, and I'm starting to wonder if I lost all or most of it yesterday after all. It was a big teaspoon or 2-sized blob. No spotting yet.
Maybe this is the calm before the storm? I'm trying not to think about tomorrow's planned induction. Part of me still wants to decline. I still might...we'll see how today and tonight go...
Aw hon I hope this works, there's still time. At least maybe you're dilating a bit, maybe the induction will go more smoothly than it would have otherwise. Definitely keep up the water - maybe an electrolyte replacement drink too, since the castor oil is dehydrating you if nothing else...you don't want to show up to an induction dehydrated to start with.
I'm still hoping this will kick into gear for you. When I took it, labor started 6 1/2 hours after taking it.
