    (((Helina)))

Wishing you lots of peace whatever your decision today hon.

And it is WAY too bad that you couldn't have gotten the ball bursting on film- that would have been hilarious!

You'll be in my thoughts today Helina! You are an amazingly strong woman, and you deserve the birth you want! Here's hoping for and easy labor with no or few interventions!!

    Default Update from hospital

Hi everyone! All your words of support are bringing tears to my eyes but I'm trying not to cry!

We got out of the house just as Lidia was getting up. I didn't want to have to say goodbye to her, it would've been too hard for both of us. I got here and they were happy to see me. Everyone knows that I don't want to be here and they've all gone out of their way to be understanding and respectful, trying to do what they can to keep this process as normal as possible. More than one person has said, "oh, YOU'RE the 42 weeker."

My nurse is wonderful. Val (ImogenSky), she totally reminds me of you! She looks about 25 and I almost died when she told me her kids are 23 & 25, grandkids 2 & 3! First thing she sat down to talk to me about what I wanted and what she could do to help. The baby is moving around a lot and she doesn't care if it goes off the monitor (which is often)--as far as she's concerned the baby is fine. It's nice that she's relaxed about it. (Plus I have a wireless telemetry band so I can be as mobile as I want.) She hit a valve when trying to get my heplock in my left arm, so it's in my left hand instead. No big whoop.

MW is in a good mood too and I'm not disappointed that it's her. She wanted to start with misoprostol and I said OK. They put the first dose in at 10:15, so I can get up and walk the halls in a few mins. I was 1-2cm and 75% effaced, baby at -1, so I'd made some more progress in the past 2 days! She thinks 1 dose of miso might be enough, and then might break my water and/or start a little pit, but we'll talk about that later. One thing at a time, right? She goes off duty at 8am tomorrow and expects this baby to be here before then.

So that's where things are! I'm not feeling any major ctx yet. I'll update again when I have more to report.

Thank goodness for technology. I don't know what we'd do if we couldn't have any updates once you went it. I think some of us would probably have conniptions (Laura ).

I really hope the miso is all you need. ELV incoming.

Oh Helina, I'm sorry to hear about the induction but it sounds like you have it all under control and that everyone is being understanding and helpful about the situation.

ELV to you, I'll be lurking around waiting for an update.
