YAY! Welcome to your lodge, Jord!! I can't believe it's that time already!!!
Yes, I know it's a day early...but I wanted to post it before anyone else did...hehehe.
Woohoo!!! Welcome to your lodge!!!
Yay Jordan! Congrats on your lodge and being on the homestretch to welcoming the "Wee Bairn."
Woot!! Thanks Em, and thanks everyone!!
Amber, the time is flying by like madness! I remember being addicted to TOC over a year before I even started TTC. And now here I am with a lodge! My very own lodge!
Here is my intro:
I met DH Greg just over 8 years ago. He went to high school with my twin sister who introduced us. A few months after meeting we started dating and immediately fell in love. He proposed a few years later and after a long engagement we were married in September of 2006.
I like this pic cause you can see a bit of my 'Something Blue', my crinoline, peeking out under my dress.
and one more because I wanted to point out my beautiful twin sister Emily (Emilys2Guppies) standing right of me, and Ariana (MamaArty_RMT) who is on the far left of the picture. Both knocked up and due this year too! (Our younger sister Alison is the other dark haired gal between me and Arty. She's currently engaged and hopefully will be sucked into pg.org world soon and start popping out kids with us!)
I had been secretly hoping to get pregnant for the months leading up to our wedding, however since I was a really good, faithful FAM user, it didn't happen. lol. We started officially TTC in May of 2007. Got my first bfp ever on August 3, 2007 at 10DPO.
Only 3 cycles. Phew! EDD of April 17th 2008. We knew right away we wanted the sex to be a surprise and are proud members of Team Green!
The first few months of pregnancy treated me really well. Mostly just fatigue, nausea and heartburn from h-e-double hockeysticks. Nothing I couldn't really handle. Beginning in December 2007 though, I developed costochondritis, which pretty much rules my life now. Inflammation of the tissues between my ribs. It hurts like a b!tch and I plan my days around it really. So far nothing has helped relieve it, but I can live with it, and hopefully it will go away once the babe is out.
I left work as assistant manager of a spa, and esthetician, at 34wks for my mat leave which I am enjoying now. Greg is a paramedic who loves to tell his co workers, and the doctors and nurses he sees daily, that we are planning a homebirth with midwives. His favourite part is talking about the birthing tub we have rented. I think he is more excited about it than I am. I have been casually studying Hypnobabies in preparation aswell. I don't think I am as commited to it as I had initially envisioned, but I do enjoy doing scripts and find they are immensely relaxing. I just like to keep my options open. If it were to 'not work' for some reason or other, I wouldn't want to feel like I failed, so I am trying to keep an open mind about it and study up on other techniques for pain relief aswell.
As far as little details go...my BIL is living with us right now but is moving out ASAP. Hopefully this is the last I post about this drama that has had me running ragged the past few weeks. Argh. I live just a few houses away from my mom, and a few more houses down from my sister Em. Both Emily and mum will be joining me once I hit my birthing time, along with my MIL and of course, Greg who is completely pumped for it. He's like a giddy little kid, seriously. He's gonna be a great daddy and told me the other day that he "can't wait to bring another little person into this world" with me. lol!! So cute.
I have my next appt, incl. my GBS test this coming Thursday morning. Woohoo!
Thanks for reading!!!
Congratulations on your lodge, I loved reading all about you
