You are one awesome momma!!! Congrats on the weight gain. I agree with pp that in a year you are going to be pulling your hair out because you can't keep up with him and wonder why in heavens name you ever worried about him
He is absolutely gorgeous!! I love his bright eyes!
I'm so glad you were able to avoid the hospitalization.
It will be so cool to look back at your lodge in a year and have all these memories. I'm so jealous of you girls with the lodges. I was really looking forward to having onebut Clara just had other plans I guess.
So far really enjoying the flip insters for pee. He just won't poop when the insert is being used so I've yet to see how that works. Still worried it will shoot off the insert and out the side.
Our Friday weigh in total has him at 10lbs now! Woo Hoo! That is another 8oz or 9oz gain in a 4 day period. He even had a huge blowout poop in the docs office right before being weighed. OMG that is 1lb in about a week! He is doing amazing and if he keeps at this rate I'll have a nice chunky baby very soon.
Have to add that they wanted me to keep pumping him full of formula which I didn't feel good about. Been taking fenugreek and my milk is way up. That along with extra pumping after feeds and getting him to eat very often has really worked and I'm thrilled. Yesterday he only needed 2.5oz extra (only 1.5 were formula) and today he has only needed .5oz EBM extra. We are so getting there and no doubt be able to keep BFing without the worry of needing to add extra calories for him.

This baby is seriously in love with me...lol.
He can't get enough of me. Like if I was a kangaroo and had a pouch he would be the happiest baby ever because he could have constant contact with me. Melts my heart. Yesterday we were with family for Thanksgiving and every female relative needed to have their baby fix with him. Good boy cooperated for the whole thing. Anyway, everytime he was with my mom she noticed that he would get all wiggly and look around when I would walk past her. Even rouse from sleep. Like he could smell me. And if I was talking within earshot he would root around or loose it if I didn't come to him. Crazy that a baby so little and smell and hear mama in a crowd. I would think she was crazy if I didn't witness it myself.
I will say that I feel so bonded with Odin. Think I need him as close to me as he needs me. I was a little worried I wouldn't bond well since we were seperated after birth and not able to cuddle for so many days after. It obviously didn't hurt the bond though. I think I even feel closer to him than I did with DS1, which makes me a little sad (for DS1) but also happy. Can't really pinpoint why or what is different. Seriously can't get enough of him though.
Had a really bad fever and flu on Monday. Knocked me down and out. Had to skip Odin's appt. with the special doctor to weigh him. It was such a nice break this week to see no doctors actually. Feel less stressed and more sure about how well he is doing and growing. All these doctors keep making my doubt myself I am realizing. Next week we have a load of appts. unfortunatly (the specialist, reg. doc. for 1 month check, the hospital post-par. appt, and MW post-par. appt.) but after that I am putting my foot down and just saying no to doctors for a while unless its the LC and I need her. The appt. I am most scared about is my pp appt. at the hosptial. I really have to desire to have a pap smear done or have any exam of my ladies parts, kinda freaks me out to have anything going on down there.
I am looking foward to the appt. with my HBMW though because I love those appts. and this is my last one. So sad. She did say that she ecourages her ladies to wait a year before getting preg. again but that we can have a 'tea' appt. to bring baby over and just talk and catch up after 6 months. How awesome is that? I'm so going to my 'tea' date because I will really miss seeing her and her student MW that I have grown so close to.

I always felt happy when my babies were being passed around, but cried out for mama...
Glad you've enjoyed a doc-free week. Do you think you could postpone the internal exam for a month or so? If you're feeling well otherwise? I've been thinking about the same thing, and that 6-week check-up is always really uncomfortable. I think if I'm feeling great at that point I'm going to ask that it be delayed.
I should have it delayed but since its today I should just go. Plus at least I'm going to see the OB that I like rather than some random. I'm not a big OB fan. Maybe I'll ask to skip the Pap though and do that with my MW whom does well woman checks and just have to OB check out my tear and stitching.
Odin's checkup's yesterday went well. He is now 10lbs 5oz and 22inches! Gaining slowly, but gaining regardless. I had to look back at DS1's stats and at about this time he was already 13.5lbs even though he was 4oz less at birth. These guys grow so differently. Anyway ped. said everything looked fine and not to come back for a month. GI specialist was concerned that the weight was slow coming on and wants him measured weekly for the next month. Grrr. I'm going to be 'out of town' for most of those extra appts. since I'm putting my foot down. He is getting loads of boob juice and still growing so I'm happy. Those stupid charts have him in the 50% in everything so I don't know what the major concern is.
Picked up my ergo carrier yesterday! Can't wait to try it out today. Should make teaching preschool with Odin in tow a little easier. I love my sling too but need a little extra support when chasing around all the preschool kids.
This last week Odin started smiling and making social talking noises! So darn cute and one of my favorite things. At 6 weeks he is still sleeping a ton but I'm glad he is hitting some milestones and giving us all less to worry about.
