Fabulous story! Sounds like you had a great team and you did a wonderful job!
I love that you made a birth outfit. I've been thinking lots about doing this. I don't imagine you have a pic?

Thanks everyone! It was such a wonderful experience! I'm glad things went so well!

I do have a picture of my birth outfit...but not me in it while I was in labor, lol. The pics were taken from my phone, so they're not wonderful. So...this is me big pregnant. Excuse my stretch marks.

This is the skirt laid out on the ground.

I used this pattern to make the skirt, with some modifications: http://www.make-baby-stuff.com/wrap-skirt-pattern.html Basically the center piece (which was in the back) was trapezoidal and fit from one hip to the other. The two other pieces overlapped each other in the front and were more or less square. The slits were just where the seams were - I just didn't sew them all the way down. I fastened it together with strips of velcro on each side for easy removal, and it allowed me to adjust the tightness of it (just in case I wanted it looser in labor). It was very simple, actually. The hardest part was working with the fabric! I used swim/dance fabric that was rayon and spandex, I believe. It washed up quite nicely too...but then again, I did have a pretty clean birth! And I patterned the bra after sleep nursing bra that I have.

Ooo yay, thanks for posting this! You look fabulous, by the way. Very "birth-goddess"-like. I'll have to think on some good fabric and maybe make myself one.
