Emily declined the antibiotics because she didn't have time for it. LOL If they will give it to you and then disconnect, I would be ok with that. I have a feeling I am going to test positive this time too. boo.

LOL - yeah if I show up at the hospital fully dialated I will decline as well!Yeah I'm thinking if they are still willing to do that then it's not too bad to be hooked up for an hour. I also had a bad feeling about it this time even though I was negative with DS.

Sorry about the GBS. I didn't ever get tested so hence never would have got the antibiotics if I had been positive.
How you feeling? Is your DS excited about the baby coming?

I don't know of anyone personally, but I know some folk out there have declined the antibiotics and done the hibeclense thing on their own prior to heading to the hospital. Have you thought of doing something like that?

I'm doing okay, but starting to feel exhausted from working full time, taking care of a toddler and being so pregnant, normal right?!
I'm honestly not sure if DS really gets it. We tell him all the time that we are having a baby sister etc. and he really is fascinated by little babies. I'm so curious how he's going to react when she's home!

Mine are 20 months apart. DS1 really didn't get it and was wary of his little brother when he visited us at the hospital. But when we got home he was very interested and gentle.I hope your DS reacts well, too!

Welcome to your lodge! Sorry you tested positive....I have thought about declining the antibiotics if I were to test positive this time around or just labor at home long enough that there wasn't time to get them in me. With #4 they gave me both doses but they weren't 4 hours apart because I wasn't even at the hospital 4 hours before he was born.

Olivia Susan arrived on 12/5 at 3:41pm. She was 7lbs, 15oz and 20 inches long. She's a delighful baby! Labor went quite well but I haven't had a chance to type up my birth story. I did end up getting one dose of the antibiotics for the GBS. Labor started at 7:30am, but contractions were not too bad and irregular until 11:30am. We had to wait for someone to come to take care of DS so didn't head into the hospital. When we got there I was 6cm dialated and 100% effaced at -1 station. I labored for quite a while in the tub. Hypnobabies worked great this time and having a break between contractions makes a huge difference. DS was all back labor (sunnyside up) but little Olivia was correctly positioned and that is so much more comfortable! And even better, she took very few pushes, about 15 minutes and she arrived! DS was 2.5 hours of pushing! What a pleasant change! I pushed her out on hands and knees and it was so amazing when she came out and my midwife slid her underneath me to look at her face to face! Overall a great birth! I did tear a bit, but it's not too bad.
