I'm so excited to start this. I am heading off to bed now, so I will write up an intro tomorrow.
Welcome to your lodge!! The end is in sight!
Okay Ladies, I'll warn you that I tend to write a lot. I guess I will start my intro with meeting DH and go from there. I will probably have to break it up a little though.
DH and I met in high school. We went to different high schools, but played on a community soccer team. I was the only girl on the team and I was the goalie while Gideon (DH) was a defender. We played on the team for a year and kind of talked to each other, but that was about it. In May of 1999, I started liking him, but he just thought of me as the girl on the team. After several months of his friends telling him that I liked him, he finally realized it in August. He didn't ask me out though until early September. We went on a date and then started "going out" Sept 5, 1999 and we have been together ever since. I was his first girlfriend and he was my first boyfriend. He is the only person I have ever kissed.
In December of that year he decided to join the Marine Corps and I had applied and been accepted to a college in Indiana. Everyone said that when we graduated it would be over and that we wouldn't see each other anymore. Everyone was wrong. We continued to date long distance while I was in school and the Marines moved him around the world. In December of 2001 he was stationed in Okinawa Japan and I went to visit him for 2 weeks for Christmas and New Years. He proposed to me on December 23. We were married June 1, 2002.
I was still in Indiana and he was stationed in North Carolina. He was deployed to Bahrain and Cuba over the next 1.5 years. After he got back from Cuba in April 2004 I transferred to an online school and moved to NC to be with him. A few months later he was deployed again, to Iraq this time.
When he got back from Iraq he got orders to Stuttgart Germany. We moved to Germany in March of 2006. I had about 3 months until I graduated, so we immediately started TTC since we knew he would be nondeployable for the next 3 years. After over a year of TTC I got pregnant in August 2007 with an EDD of May 8. At the same time we found out that DH had been accepted into a MECEP program that would allow him to go to college while keeping his active duty status, earn his degree and become an officer in the Marines. We were scheduled to leave in October 2008, only 5 months after having the baby.
I will stop here for now and post more about my pregnancy and birth storry with DD1 Hadley as my pregnancy was kind of rough and my birth story is very long.
