I was finally able to get some sleep after I got offline last night. I haven't been having very many pressure waves this morning (I've been up almost half an hour and I think I've had 1 or 2). I did drink a glass of water when I was up last night, and I think getting hydrated is what slowed and eventually stopped the waves, because I wasn't having them anymore when I fell asleep. I might not have drank enough water yesterday being out so much.
TMI warning--I still haven't seen my mucus plug, but I've heard not everyone notices loosing it. I did with DD--I remember I described it as being similar to a "sticky hand" toy, it was so thick. I've had mucus, but it has been more like regular cervical mucus, not all...gelataneous, LOL. I have tried to check myself a couple of times--I am very gentle with it, though. I can put a finger inside my cervix now, but I haven't pushed on it enough to know if the dilation is all the way through or not.
I hope DH gets home early enough tonight to watch DD so I can go to the MOPs mom's night. It is a "spa night," and they're having massages, pedicures, and free eyebrow waxing! I love getting my brows waked, but can't justifiy spending like $10 every time. I think it would be so fun to go.
Hope you don't mind me hopping into your lodge so late.
I never lost my plug with D, or at least didn't notice it. I'm excited to be pregnant this time around because I'm finally brave enough to get to know my own cervix. That would have solved a lot of my problems with unnecessary hospital trips last time.
I hope the Spa Night thing works out, what a wonderful treat for an expecting mommy!
Stay hydrated momma and have fun at spa night!
P.S. I'm not sure there's really such a thing as TMI on this board![]()
Sounds like things are moving along the way you might expect at this point! I never noticed losing mucous plug with any but the first.
Costco is a little crazy! We use it now with all the kids for milk, cereal, diapers/wipes, and this week...I got Healthy Choice Fudge bars. yum.
Hope you rest a little this weekend! When is your aunt coming? Was it your aunt?
My aunt is the one who lives nearest to us (2 hours away in Seattle). She doesn't have a set time that she is coming--she has offered to come any time we need her, especially if my mom doesn't make it soon enough after the baby is born. My parents are back from Japan now, but they've still got a lot going on. They have already sold their house, and they close on March 12 (4 days after my guess date) so they are moving everything out of their house and into storage for now, and moving to a furnished 1 bedroom rental apartment in Florida until they find a house to buy there.
We've had a nice slow day at home today. It's rainy out, so I don't really feel like going anywhere. DD and I made homemade playdough and played with it for a while. I just used a recipe I found on the internet, and it came out a good texture. DD tried to eat it a few times, but it's really salty, so I don't think it tastes very good. So, yeah, that was our project for the day.
I texted DH and told him about the thing tonight and how I really want to go, and he said he will "leave early" (yeah, getting home before 6:00 pm is "early" for him--and yes, he does go to work at 8:00 am) so I can go to it. My neighbor offered to let me ride with her, so that's the plan!

My blog: Birth Unplugged
I went to the spa night and it was so fun! First we had dinner--pizza, fruit trays, and costco cookies and brownies (I love their oatmeal rasin cookies). Then I had a foot soak and massage, and then I got my eyebrows waxed. The girl had the high-quality wax that only sticks to hair, not skin. She warned me that it might hurt a little more than normal because during pregnancy all your nerve endings open up, but it was still not bad. Next I had the back massage--neither one of the ladies thought to bring a pregnancy massage pillow, so I had to lie on my side, but it was still nice and relaxing. Then I had a hand and forearm massage with aromatherapy oils. The girl used the back of a butter knife on everyone else's arms, but she didn't do it on anyone who was pregnant because she said it could force toxins to the baby. She was telling me about what essential oils are good for birth--she was really cool. The last thing I did was have someone paint my toenails for me and put some little flower stickers on them--they're really cute! It was such a fun night and I'm so glad I got to go to it!
Oh man, I'm jealous, that sounds wonderful!
Glad you had fun last night! Sounds like a great time.
And, now I might have to make DH pick up some oatmeal raisin cookies at Costco this afternoon.![]()
