Ok I have to complain. I can't take it. I can't read my birth board anymore. They are all gung ho over their inductions and c-sections. I want to say...Why oh WHY would you want to do that to yourself, but instead I am just staying away. It won't help and it may make me look like a bad guy. Ugh! I hate how medicalized birth has become so normal that no one even thinks anything about it.

I might end up being the bad guy occasionally for you. Based on my experiences the natural labor was way, way easier than the others... and there's no way I'd do an elective induction!

I mean some inductions and c-sections are necessary. But things like they think the babies head is big and I can plan my babysitter are not reasons to be induced. Ugh! I doubt any of them read my lodge so I think I should be safe talking about it here. I don't know. I just can't take it. I need to remain in my positive bubble.

I don't blame you. I'm just staying out of those threads as much as I can.

I had to stay away from my birth board the last little bit of my pregnancy. All the "ZOMG! I get to meet my babeeee today!" induction and c/s posts got to be a little much. Especially since all the FTMs went before me and I was 10 days "overdue"

Well talk about induction here I am faced with a necessary one. I went in to L&D last night with blood pressure at 198/108. That admitted me. The attending doc on call wanted to section me last night. They put me on a different bp med that brought it down. I am also on magnesium sulfate which is so fun. I talked with Dr Vlastos this morning and he is doing a 24 hour urine to see if I am pre-eclamptic. He suggested we start a manual induction via foley bulb or sew weed stick. I agreed since my bp was really high. So I guess it is baby time for me. Not exactly how I wanted this to go, but here I am. I have to be smart and do what is safe for me and baby. Wish me luck!!!

Sorry to hear you are needing to be induced. I do think some inductions and even a few sections are needed though. Hope all goes smoothly for you and you won't need too many interventions. ELVs!

Hope it goes well! It definitely sounds like an induction is best for you and baby right now. Hugs!
