The not sleeping thing, in a weird way it actually isn't that bad! Kinda like just getting through the day when you have a newborn.....you're tired, but life goes on.

Warning - random post of the day:

Was packing my stuff yesterday and found a copy of my 34 week growth scan among the paperwork. It made me smile so I tried to see if I could photograph it clearly (only had my phone to hand, everything else is packed)....we'll see if this works?

In case you can't see it - the highlighted section says "The EDD for twin A is 17/03/2011. The EDD for twin B is 25/03/2011." I just found this REALLY bizarre in a report, I mean, they are coming out at the same time - not 8 days apart!

Both babies were measuring exactly together at the start of pregnancy (and 2 days apart at 20 weeks) - I just think one is bigger than another (and is one of the reasons I think that they are probably fraternal twins). But, it also makes me thankful that my OBS doesn't take later USS as indications of gestation.

Anyway, that's the end of my random post of the day - that's the problem with being up at night unable to sleep .

I have a midwife appointment later this morning so I'll update after that.

That's hilarious! Can you imagine the labour that produces 8-day-apart twins. No thanks.

And I hear you on the sleep thing - I can't wait to be able to get even two hours of GOOD sleep, vs. this uncomfortable crazy sleep!

Ha! I'm so going to use that if anyone tells me that their doc changed their due date based on a late u/s. That really illustrates how nonsensical it all is!

How are you feeling today mama? Babies still in?

That's funny! Although it's not unheard of for twins to be born a few days to a week apart I'd probably ask about that just to see what their answer is lol

You are more than welcome to use it - I thought it was good "evidence" that late USS for EDDs are just not accurate.

The other thing that came up during this scan is that initially twin A had "low fluid". The sonographer looked everywhere and couldn't find any additional pockets of amniotic fluid and gave up after a long search. Only when she was scanning twin B did she find more fluid belonging to it's sibling, putting twin A into a "normal" level. So if it wasn't for this being a twin pregnancy I would have unnecessarily (and incorrectly) been diagnosed as having low fluid for twin A....I could imagine with some OBS that would be a good excuse for an induction

I've seen stories about long gaps between twins.....but TBH, I don't think that I would go for that option . Once I get to fully dilated they are BOTH coming out one way or another!!!

So I didn't update on yesterdays midwife appointment - it was very uneventful - nice and boring!

BP 110/60, normal urine, no swelling, both babies vertex and FHRs 140 and 138bpm. Didn't bother with cervical check, not going to help anything! We discussed the next OBS appt (if I make it to next week) and my midwife informed me that the OBS would probably "sound me out" about induction, but that he wouldn't push it. So just keeping on taking it day by day until something happens!

Since I had DD2 at 40+3, I predict that I won't be going tooo "late" anyway. I have been having some persistent back pain and been losing (TMI alert) chunks of mucous over the last 24 hours so I know that I will probably have the babies within the next two weeks or so
