You'll know soon! I would wonder about the scan, too after a comment like that. But maybe he was just genuinely wondering.

Kids have to be in carseats here until they are 8 or 80lbs I think. I will have to double check that part. My step son will be 8 on March 30th. The problem is that is is only like 45/50lbs. Sooo way to little to not be in some sort of seat. I have the 2 "big" kids (Samantha is 6) in Britax Regants which are just huge seats if you have ever seen them. There is no way to put another seat in the back, which technically should fit 3 people. Soooo I am thinking of moving both Elijah and Samantha to booster seats. Putting Lilly's Marathon in the back and then having Isaiah (who is in a Recaro) and new baby (who will be in an infant seat) in the middle row. I just need to make sure the marathon and the 2 boosters will fit in the back. My husband has a suburban and we have a simlar problem in his truck, but he actually has one spot open right now. But that means no one else can ride with us. So my 21 year old step son is just out of luck. LOL Just kidding. If I quit after the baby is born we really only need one car that can fit all the kids so either the van or the suburban is going bye bye I think.

Eeek what a stinky doctor. LOL Did he know you weren't finding out? I will tell you that when I was pg with my son I knew right away at my 20w us that he was a boy. The moment they put the wand on my belly we have a wonderful shot of right between his legs. LOL I would try to ignore the comment at this point. I know hard right.
I think docs like to scare us with their fun statistics. Just because you have a great "risk" of getting any one of those things doesn't mean you will. Plus what is the real risk anway. I mean if you have a 2% of getting GD with a singleton and a 4% with twins that really is still very low. kwim. I am glad your mw was able to put your mind at ease. That really is more helpful for you than anything.

Sounds like you had a good appointment! Obstetricians are just so trained to look for problems.

And it's so awesome that the babies' genders are a surprise! At our routine 20 week ultrasound there was 5-6 obvious shots of boy parts, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't really a surprise anymore.

I'm so glad your doctor is coming around. What a nice surprise! Yippee for making it to March too!!!!

As for genders, I wonder if he might have glimpsed "parts" on one (or at least thought he did) and then wondered if the other might be a boy too. Hard to know, maybe he was just confusing you with someone else at that moment. After all, he should have known that you were planning a surprise.

I definitely didn't see any boy parts on any of the scans, and TBH, I don't think the OBS could have done either at my appt, the scan was that quick. I asked DH what he thought of the obstetrician's comment and he just said that he was been polite and starting a conversation as the girls were playing stereotypical *girlie* games (with their "babies") at the time. I guess we'll find out soon....

I have always thought that there is probably at least one boy in there (this is since I found out there was twins, I didn't even guess that part so not doing brilliantly on that front!). However, since my mother's intuition has a 50% gender prediction success rate in previous pregnancies - who knows?

Oh, and just for fun....DH's prediction is boy first, followed by girl!

While I am awake I thought I would update on today....

I have had a pretty tough day, nothing specific, but I am just not feeling right. For the first time I thought that I was ready to have these babies rather than staying pregnant. I think I am just tired but was feeling pretty emotional, not myself and if anyone had offered to come and look after the girls and me today then I would have cried!

It's currently the middle of the night here and I have been woken by back and groin pain...no regular "labour" contractions but since I have BH pretty consistently they are there, but not particularly painful or in a pattern IYKWIM? Ugggh, I just need to sleep....hopefully I'll feel better in the morning?

I can see this happening every night for the next three weeks!! So not fun - sorry for the pity party, hopefully everything will be brighter tomorrow!

Well, congrats on the good appointment! If I could get that kind of attitude out of my midwife, I'd be so excited! LOL!

The carseat thing has been an issue here too... we've only got 3 to deal with, but now the older two got bumped to the rear seat (the infant seat doesn't fit back there), and they HATE it. I hope you get it sorted!

And for some reason, I feel like you've got a boy and a girl in there. There's at least one boy I think - don't know why I feel that way, but I'm pretty convinced.

ETA: Just saw your update. I SO feel you on the waking in the middle of the night thing, and I've only got one babe in there making me uncomfortable. I have no idea how you find a position to sleep in with two!

I'm sorry for the rough night. I hope you can get comfy and relax a bit. I was pretty uncomfortable at the end too and I only had one in there. Emotions are a huge part of being pregnant and sometimes it makes you feel better to feel emotional KWIM? anyway, only a couple more weeks, if the wee ones decide to wait that long. another for you mama

Thanks for your support - this morning I still feel pretty awful but I guess that comes with 3 hours sleep overnight! In answer to how I manage to get comfortable, I don't - I usually manage to crash asleep at night but then wake frequently. Take your pick at what wakes me, there's usually a checklist!

I am running out of energy generally at the moment...I haven't gained any weight for the last two weeks and my tummy is still growing so they are obviously taking what they need from me . I cannot eat any more food than I am currently consuming (the lack of stomach room puts paid to that) but eventually they will come out and a new sort of fatigue will begin! I know that this too will pass....and I desperately want to keep them in as long as they need. All the support is helping greatly though, so thank you!

Now to survive today.....just keep swimming....
