So having a productive day today, got a lot of my list completed....it's funny how you NEED to get the jobs list completed at the end of pregnancy! Well actually, DH and I got a lot of jobs done from my list - including fitting car seats, cleaning out the guttering, cleaning the drains and showers, making peach jam (we had a load of peaches from a local tree to use up!) and he's now making us pizza....DH's doing good today!!

Here is my most recent photo and last weeks for comparison:

I can't really see much difference???

When I was reading Manda's lodge I got to thinking....I have NEVER this entire pregnancy had anyone say "are you sure that there are not two in there?" - I would really enjoy confirming it!! I obviously don't look as if I am about to burst?!?

Mind you I realise that a lot of time when people are talking to pregnant ladies randomly they are not really listening to the answers, I think they just feel the need to say something, anything, no matter what it is. Several times I have had people ask "do you know what you're having?" and I answer "yes, twins!" - they either double take about two minutes later when it has been processed in their brain or completely don't hear (well, they don't react) to what you actually said.

My favourite comment though is always "you're going to have your hands full!" as if this hasn't crossed our minds (and as if no-one has ever had four or more young children before at a time!).

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend!

    You have an awesome belly!

I think you're right about the comments people make.. it just automatically spews out.

LOL @ the 'you'll have your hands full!' We get that all the time too, since our oldest is just 3. Personally, I don't see how you can have multiple children at ANY time and not have your hands full... like twins (or newborns in general) are EVER a cake walk?

Anyway, I think you look fantastic, and hey - if you're not super huge, I'd take it! Your kiddos are growing well, so that just means you don't have a whole lot of extra weight to lose! That's a good thing!! I hear all the time 'are you sure there's not two in there??' which, when there are NOT actually two, makes one feel fat and unsuccessful at the whole pregnant thing.... people should just not be allowed to open their mouths around pregnant ladies I think.

Just for fun my belly progression, these are the only photos I have taken of my expanding waistline (maybe I should have taken more):

It's really weird to look back - especially the first photo at 13 weeks, I took that one the day after I found out there were twins on board and I already had a little paunch and was wearing my maternity pants!!!

The arrow on the 19.5 week photo is the height of my uterus so was measuring a little big then!

Never gets boring eh? My older two are very similar in ages to your two, DD1 is coming up to 3.5 years and DD2 will be 2 in May!

Thank you! I know I should be pleased that there will be less weight to lose (especially as I am my sister's matron-of-honour in August) - I was thinking that there will still have to be some major support wear to suck everything back in again afterwards for the photos

But at the moment I feel a little like I *should* look bigger IYKWIM? Maybe I am a bit sensitive to other people's comments because according to the scales at home I am actually now losing weight and I hope I am giving them enough nutrition....I dunno?

It's actually pretty common in the last weeks to lose weight. I'd assume it's more pronounced with twins... you can't keep up with your growing munchkins, so they take from you. That's why your body gains that cushion of fat to begin with!

And anyway, I think you look fantastic! I'd say you're about the same size as me, and I get the 'are there 2 in there?' all the time... so maybe you've just not met as tact-less a crowd as I have. And hey, you'll lose probably 14-15lbs of baby right off the bat... I had better not!! You'll have a great jump on me! ha!

I'd love to see a comparison belly pic to one of your singleton pregnancies. Can you notice a difference in them?

I'm definitely bigger this time around...

Here is me at 41 weeks with DD1 (the day I went into labour!), a snapshot of me at 37 weeks with DD2 (carrying DD1) (for some reason I can't find any "belly" pics of DD2) and to make it easier to compare, the most recent one of me this time:

I managed to avoid stretch marks my previous two pregnancies......this time there is a lovely collection under my stomach (which I can only see in the mirror) so I can't deny that I am not larger this time around!

You definitely look like there's more baby in there this time.
