Oooh how exciting... or annoying if it's going to be awhile lol That's how my labors started with ds1 and ds2, BH all day long. If it's not labor I'm sure it's helping you dialate!!

Maybe your uterus is just more...excited this time around?

That is scary about your DH's birth. I can understand how an experience like that would color your MIL's perspective. You're right about the staying home as long as possible thing, and actually, since most OBGYNs don't stay with laboring women in the hospital (they stay at their office and give orders to the nurses on the phone and do their appointments until time to catch the baby), the doctor wouldn't be THERE to do an emergency c-section either. A few hospitals have 24/7 surgical teams on-staff, but not very many.

this is probably a good time to start stalking me

I woke up around 9am this morning (after a 2 hour power struggle with DD in her big girl bed...I knew it was coming sooner or later)...

I started having some BH contractions...and they were between 20 and 10 minutes apart lasting 30 to 45 seconds...so I finally got up to pee around 10 am...and what do I see but my mucus plug/bloody show. (Yay...I always wondered what that look like...)

So my mom and brothers came over (my mom cooked up some sloppy joes) and I got myself out of bed. The have since pettered out to only a couple and hour. Nothing between 2 and 3:30, then at 4, I went to sleep between 4:30 until 5:30...had a contrax at 5:30 and just now at 6pm.

I'm having a hard time distinguishing if these are early labor contrax or just BH. The aren't really getting stronger, but they do last 45 sec. or so and I feel them both in the front and in my back. (Also, this is TMI...but they hurt down in my butt too...does that make sense?) A few of them earlier today wouldn't release in my back...that sucked...I hope that isn't what back labor feels like...I can't imagine doing that with stronger contrax. Obviously...they seem to have pettered out, so maybe not today, but maybe I'll have this LO soon????

update: the contraxs are back to being 20 min apart...oh, this is going to be a long week...come on full moon!

Sounds like you're kind of in labor limbo--you don't know if the contractions are going to get stronger and lead to real labor or go away, but you wish they'd make up their mind and do one or the other. KUP!

Anything new? Hope your feeling good today. How is DD doing with the big girl bed? My DD likes to sleep so I got lucky, it was an easy swith for her.

Anything new...that is the understatement of the year! Our DD is now a big sister...yes the baby is here! We had a little girl and named her Isabella Rebecca. Born 3/9 at 9:03, weighing in at 8lbs 8 ozs and 20 inches.

Family is on the way over for dinner, but I hope to put up a birth story soon...it was SO different from Emily's birth.
