Today has been pretty good, I went to a baby shower for a friend who is due about a week after I am with a little girl, so it was fun shopping for girly stuff. I'm glad to be having a boy though, I've never been that big on pink (actually boycotted the color entirely in high school lol), and I don't know that I could handle the pink overload that is baby girl stuff. We took a really cute progressive belly pic of me and the other 4 pregnant ladies there, once I get a copy I'll block out their faces and post it

While I was there, I had plent of contractions but nothing too bad, and a couple of those awful lightning bolt pains in my cervix, which thankfully are over as soon as they start. Had contractions about 10 minutes apart for a while that I thought could have been the beginnng of things, and another 5 minute super contraction, but then they stopped.

Oh, and Hunter has had his feet tucked under my ribs in the same spot he keeps kicking and bruising, so I'm a bit uncomfy from that, but nothing I can do, so I'll live.

Your description of the sensation in the cervix as "lighning bolt" is appropriate. I remember that feeling. It won't be long before you're holding Hunter in your arms!

I really can't believe he's still inside! The past few days have been really bad in terms of sleep, I have been getting up at LEAST once an hour to pee, and the back pain is really bad at night. I finally went to the chiropractor today, so hopefully my back won't feel quite as bad tonight and I can get a little more sleep. I have my 37 week appointment tomorrow, we'll see how everything goes! I'm not sure if I'll decline the internal or not, I think I'm too curious not to lol.

I sympathise with you on the back pain. Do you have a birth (exercise) ball? I went & bought one for $6 at walmart today b/c my old one is broken. That can REALLY help w/ back & hip discomfort. I've found just laying down and listening to my deepening track, or turning my light switch off. I sure hope you get some sleep tonight!

Yes I do have one, thanks for reminding me to blow it back up! I deflated it the other day when I went to L&D so I could have it there, but of course ended up staying all of 2 hours. The only bad thing is I can't use it in the living room if my dog is out, he thinks it's a toy

lol Yea all 5 of my kids thinks it's a toy too. I'm constantly telling them to put it back in my room.

Well, technically I have 12 hours until I'm full term, but since I don't seem to be in labor, I think I can officially say that I MADE IT!

I had my appointment today, and I'm 2 cm dialated and 50% effaced, so slowly making progress! Not sure why, but 2 cm seems like a much bigger number than 1 1/2, so I'm pretty happy about the progress. BP looked good, Hunter's heartbeat was nice and strong, and...I gained 5 POUNDS! In a WEEK! I'm going to chalk about half of it up to the fact that I just ate a big breakfast and I had to pee really bad, and part of it up to not having had quite as much water this week so I'm probably retaining a little...but still, quite a jump, eek!

My back pain improved enough last night that I slept a little better than I have been, so I'm feeling pretty good today! Now if Hunter would just get his feet out of my ribs, we'd be golden...lol.
