Thank you for the bump, just thought I would post a quick update on us .
My older children are doing well, school is a wonderful thing . Miss 5 began kindergarten and has adjusted quite well, we have full day kindergarten here.
My baby will soon be 2 mos old, I can't believe how time literally flies, she is a true joy, sometimes when I look at her I get teary just thinking how I really did not know she would be her a year ago. She smiles like crazy and is starting to coo, it is sooo cool. I really enjoy my time with her alone when my older children are in school. Samantha nurses so well, we have her 2 month ped visit tomorrow, I'm thinking she is 13lbs.
I had my six week pp visit on 9/11. I absolutely adore my OB, this coming from someone who is not a "fan" of doctors. Keep in mind my previous births were with midwives, I never expected the personalized care I received. He is just a genuine compassionate person, I feel so blessed to have found him and that he was such a big part of bringing Samantha into this world. I wrote him a heartfelt thank you note that I took great time and effort to word correctly and truthfully, Dr. T stopped my dh in the hall at my visit and told him he had never received such a "thank you" before. After all my pregnancies I always felt like pregnancy is a journey or trip and the 6 week pp visit is truly the end of that journey that your dr/midwife takes or walked with you, and they then send you on your way with the new life you have created. It is sad to say "so long" or goodbye.
I'm not usually so reflective but this thoughts have been bouncing around for some time now.
Audra, it's good to have an update from you. I'm glad that Samantha is doing so well and you too. How wonderful to hear how pleased you still are with your doctor. That's terrific. I'm glad that you bounced those thoughts here to land.
