I have no idea if those were contractions or not hehe. But how is the weather and temp up there this time of year? If we didn't have a/c I would die. We have high humidity in the summer (which makes it 1000x worse) and its in the mid 90's right now.
Yikes, I dont' know how you gals live like that with the heat. I would be shocked if it were any warmer then 55 degrees here right now. Kind of off topic, but one winter I traveled with a friend to Portland in the winter. When we got there it was raining and 50 degrees, we were outside in our t-shirts talking about how warm it was and people were standing aroud shivering and wearing big coats. When we left Anchorage it was -40 so it was 70 degrees warmer there and people thought we were crazy Back to you Conni, next time you are having pains feel your tummy if they are contractions your whole tummy will get rock hard. It starts at the bottom and works it's way to the top. Some people have back pain with them, some don't. What you are describeing could also have been round ligament pains, it's hard to say. Hope they were contrax though!
Vanessa - I was the same way when I used to travel regularly to Dallas for work. It would be so beautiful down there in the early or late winter and we'd be having the colder weather in the -20s.
It's been quite warm here the last week or so - but our winters are longer and we usually only get scattered days over the summer where it's above 80 so very few people have air conditioning. Unfortunately this summer has been unusual in that we've had quite a few weeks already of hot weather (for us anyway). We keep the fans going around the clock and when the afternoon gets unbearable for me I head out to soak in the blow up kiddie pool Brian bought for me after a particularly bad hot emotional day! LOL!
Hope you are feeling well - not much longer. The kiddie pool sounds great right about now. I can't believe you are having the hot weather like that - UGH. It's been really good here actually, can't complain.
Conni, just wanted to say how glad I am that you are continuing to be low risk.
Contractions have lots of different feelings. Sometimes they ache. But other times they feel quite sharp. I bet you were having contractions.
When I went into labor this time, I felt uncomfortable, like the baby was pushing his head on me. Sometimes it would be more uncomfortable than others, but I just attributed it to the general discomfort of late pregnancy. And then a few minutes later I felt and heard my water break. Oh, those had been contractions, I realized.
Those cookies sound yummy! That is so great that you are released to your midwife now! I would have been really worried about that too. I bet the kiddie pool is wonderful. I can't live w/o the ac, but man, that electric bill is just killing us!
It does sound like you were have contrax, hopefully something is going on down there!
Goodmorning! We had a busy weekend so I didn't get a chance to post at all. My oldest sister flew in from Vancouver Island on Saturday and so the weekend has been full of family etc. Yesterday my sisters and I went to a nearby lake so it was nice to spend some time floating around in the lake and being nice and cool!
Thanks for the feedback on the contractions. I think that's what was going on - but I haven't had anything like it since. I've had a few minor BH contractions but nothing as regular and long lasting since last week.
The cookies were awesome! No chocolate this time - but they have rice crispies in them so they are all chewy and crispy at the same time. They sure didn't last very long though so I'm looking for another cooler day that I can do more baking - I think I'm going to have to hide the cookies from Brian...or me...not sure who was worse for eating them all!
