Hey ladies. Sorry I have just been a little busy doing errands etc. I also tend not to get online much on the weekends when Michael is here.

I know I need to type up those seminar notes and have it on my list of to-do's. Today I went and found some blue cohash, went to the breast feeding supply store and got a nursing bra, nursing pillow, and a kangaroo sling. Then I went to the bank and grocery shopping. I was worn out by the time I got home.

My u/s is scheduled for 9:30 am on Thursday and then we meet with the doc at 4pm that afternoon where we will handle this whole induction issue. We saw my doula last night and she thought our birth plan was great and we went over labor and pushing positions.

I must say this pregnancy thing is starting to become a bit cumbersome Smile It is getting hard to do things like laundry or putting away the dishes, etc. Getting out of bed to go to the bathroom needs some calculated thought on my part.

We are taking all of the animals in on Saturday for their checkup and any needed shots. They aren't due until the beginning of next month but hauling all 6 with a newborn sounds pretty difficult. We get a huge discount if they are all brought in at once.

Basically I'm just keeping busy doing the things that need to be done. I find it so peaceful not knowing when this baby will arrive. I love the surprise of it. I think if I knew I was have a section or an induction I would be so conscious of counting down the days.

ITA, about how exciting it is not knowing when baby will arrive. It would really change things to have baby's birthday already marked on the calendar weeks in advance.

Okay, where have you been able to find blue cohash? I know I am like 2 weeks away from wanting to use something like that, but I still want to know where I'd look to find it. I was at Central Market yesterday and had no luck. I did find the red rasberry leaf tea there thouh. They also had the EPO and casteroil. Oh...and I read somewhere that good rich chocolate can stimulate things so I picked up 70% dark cocoa while I was there...even if it doesn't bring on labor, it is SO DANG GOOD! Lol

I'm just glad to see you back here girlie.

I completely agree. While there is an undeniable convenience factor in knowing when the baby's coming, I think it would stress me out. I'm glad you're enjoying the surprise!

The big "weight" u/s is tomorrow as well as a doctor's appointment with the first doc we saw. We will be going over the plan from here on out.

I saw the chiro today and we got the best crack on the left side of my neck. Normally he can't get that side to go. He felt the position of the baby, which he was taught by midwives, and said he thinks she is head down. I actually think she dropped lower into my pelvis yesterday. I can say I'm pretty ready to have my little girl. Anytime would be fine Smile

Thinking of you Jenny! Hope you're feeling well. I know what you mean about having to "think" about getting out of bed in the night...DH actually said he was feeling sorry for me b/c he saw how much effort it takes, LOL.

Let us know how your appts go! Head down vibes to you....

Today was a great day!

It began with a bit of stress but ended up beautiful!

We had the u/s this morning and the tech said her abdomine is 41 weeks making their estimate 8lbs 7oz. Of course this freaked me out. Not because I actually believe she is that big right now but because I was assuming the doc would want to talk induction.

We went to see the original, non-intervention doctor we originally saw and he was not worried about the weight at all. He even said "oh, I've seen these u/s be 2lbs off." I know! but I didn't think he would say it. Also, he said the 40 week induction thing was not going to happen and he wouldn't even consider it until 41 weeks, which is just how I feel. He read our birth plan and didn't have any issues with it except to say that I will get a fight at the hospital if I refuse a hep lock.

He agreed that the attitude of the other docs was not right, but there really isn't anything he can do about it. I told him the bottom line was that he would be the only one I will be seeing for the rest of my pregnancy and that all decisions made would be between us and him not his partners. So everything is happy! Oh, and of course she is head down Smile

Just catching up here ... glad you had the good appt and that you saw a doc that has good sense. Wink That makes all of the difference!!!! And the belly shot from last week looks great, nice and round!!!! Oh, and the numb/tingling spot you posted about before? I've had that too, so strange, but I just think it's from part of the baby's body just pushing on part of the belly (does that make sense?).

Good luck with taking all of the animals in on Saturday!

Well ladies, I'm not sure what I am currently experiencing. Last night I was having what I think are contractions every 10 minutes but then they fizzled out. I'm still getting BH/pre labor on a pretty consistent basis (can be 10 min or 30 min or 1 hour) and they don't go away laying down or moving around etc. Is this pre labor? I don't know.

My body is starting to let me know that it has had enough. I had to hang out upstairs in my glider for a few minutes before my hips could handle walking down the stairs. The healthy sized baby is taking a bit of a toll on my frame Smile I was a little psyched last night and was a little disappointed when they just went away but oh well. I'm not due yet Smile

Yesterday we went to IKEA to find a side table to put next to my nursing chair. It was nice taking that nice long walk in the air conditioning and with fun things to look at. Oh boy did my feet swell up! I got a great little table that I love.

Also, we took all six animals to the vet for their annual. What a chore that is! My kitty is having gum problems and got some antibiotics for an infection. Otherwise everyone is fine and got their government mandated vaccines. Oh, I just remembered I haven't typed those notes from the seminar yet! What are you all going to do with me Smile

Sounds like your body is getting ready!!! My body gave me a couple "trick labor" days. Once they ctrx are regular (no matter how far apart they are) then you can get your hopes up more. Wink

I wish you had a video camera when you were taking all the animals to the vet. I can't even carry my 2 YO into a store!

How exciting, Jenny! If you ask me, it does sound like it could very well be early labor signs. Then again, my labor wasn't your "typical" progression. For me, the day before I delivered I had more BH than usual, and I was getting very mild cramps that would come and go. I didn't think much of them because I hadn't had ANY pre-labor signs until that day, and I was still 6 days from my due date, so I blew it off as just "my body's getting ready" signs... and then all of a sudden I vaulted into hard, 3rd stage labor! And a little over 3 hours later I had a baby ON my belly instead of in it! Crazy... so you just never know!

Oooh, how exciting - KUP! You're so close! Any changes since you posted earlier? :clappy:

All 6 animals at one time??? And I think I have it bad taking the girls to the doctor! Wink YOu're a brave woman Jenny. My dog is such a spaz when we go to the vet!

Sorryt he contractions fizzled out.:( But atleast you're getting some good ones now.

Ikea is AWESOME! I love that store, but I haven't been in a long time. I'll have to hit that place back up after Matt comes for some neat things. All the girls plates/plastic ware are from there super cheap.

Sounds like you're getting ready. Wink I know that I am exhausted just climbing the stairs here. Lol Glad you survived the vet on Saturday. That's cool that you got an awesome table - you should post a picture. Smile

Mornin' ladies. I really should take pictures of the nursery and my belly picture! Can you believe I have been doing that religiously since 15 weeks and skipped last week! I'm meeting a girlfriend in an hour for lunch and window shopping. I was having some contractions yesterday but not as much as the day before. I'll post some pics later.

It's picture time!

I wanted to share some pics with you ladies. I realize I am no decorator extrordinare but here is the nursery as it stands.

and her bassinet and changing table that will be in our room until we are ready to move her to the nusery:

and all of her 0-3 month clothes, not one stitch of which I actually bought :):

The nursery used to be my office but now our living room has been turned into the office:

and this is was the best recommendation I got and swear it is how I'm still sleeping so well. Thank God we have a king sized bed:

Yes, that is my pillow! Smile

And finally, my 39 week belly. I definitely see some spots that are holding my current 213 lbs on my 5'2" frame Smile

Thanks for letting me share.

1st of all, I am super happy to see you got teh PBK bedding that you wanted! It is a beautiful bed set Jenny!

2nd of all, you're belly looks just about perfect! I have no idea what the heck you are talking about 231 lbs?!?!?! There is NO possible way. You either look taller than me or have a warped scale or something cause the pictures in my intro I was no more that 170 and I am 5'5" and you look better than I did so the numbers don't add up. I'll send you a new scale for a "push present" from me to you. I kow, that's just wrong, but I have a horrible sense of humor!

3rd...that pillow is CRAZY! I've never seen anything like it. With the girls, I had this taco lookin' thing that was hard as hell to get in and out of each night, but it was okay. I have a regular body pillow that has lasted me this long thank goodness, but yeah that pillow looks like fun!

4th: seriously, you are going to have so much fun with a little girl. I'm looking forward to meeting my little man and all, but girls are so much fun. Just looking at all her little clothes just brings me back. :bigarmhug:

TFS your great pictures!

Loving the bedding and if you haven't used the cosleeper before you're going to love it! They're SO handy and Callie still uses hers, playpen style, as a bed at Grandma's.

As for your weight, I am both shorter and heavier, no worries Smile You look GREAT and your belly is so cute and high. AWE!

No reason to go overboard Kel it is 213 not 231 Smile LOL. Actually the docs office says 218 with clothes and after eating. I'm being generous to myself. I think a lot of it is boob. They are sitting at a 40G now Smile

I'm so looking forward to having a little girl. I couldn't be happier about it.

Awwww Jenny you are a shorty like me!!! I'm 5'1". My bed looks similar to yours, although I don't have a big pillow like that I have two for my head and one for each side around me. I really don't know how I roll myself out of there half the time!!!! I too am glad you got the bedding set you wanted. I remember you talking about it on July BB a while back. I just LOVE your little girl's nursery it is so stinkin' cute! I have a little cosleeper too! I can't wait to use it. I wanted to snuggle up on your glider and read your books!! Just curious is that a good one?

If you are talking about how to win friends and influence people, it is a must read for everyone Smile I read it every 5 years or so. It was written in the 30's but every point is still true today.

I called the Dr. this afternoon to make sure that he saw the u/s and to go over the results. He had said that if I didn't deliver by Monday, he wanted another u/s to check fluid levels and my placenta. He had thought we would see him this week but did not know that his schedule would not allow it. I figured it would be best to assume that the doc we will see on Thursday will "insist" we do an induction this Monday so I made sure that he put a script for the u/s in my chart and he did initial my birthplan, which is also in my chart. I told him I would politely explain that was not an option if she insists.

He said Catie's belly is measuring only an inch bigger than her head and in the 75th percentile. So no big deal. If the measurements are correct, her head is 4.25 inches in diameter. I looked at that on a ruler and wow, that's gonna hurt a bit, huh Smile j/k. I'm more worried about getting a cervical check next week if I don't have her than actually pushing her out. How weird is that!? I read on the internet that the average newborn head is 33 - 38 cm in circumfrence. Catie's is 33.4. I like that thought. Thursday should be interesting. We are seeing the one doctor we haven't met before. In the words of the, let's call him the "good" doc, "she's cool." I sure hope he is right, and I don't have to have another uncomfortable conversation. I'm glad we are going to meet her though so we know if/how much of a fight we will have if she is on call when I go into labor. We have the others ranked so far.

The good doc is on Tuesday and Thursday night of next week. So, I'll shoot for having her then Smile I'm pretty much assuming she will be born between 40 and 41 weeks. I always have. In fact, I've always assumed she will come on the 10th. How amazing would it be if that were true.

Hey Jenny, hope you are feeling well today. You look great, and so does the nursery. I think we got the same crib-- is it from BRU with the drop-down side?

Hope everything works out with you tomorrow. I wonder if your prediction will come true!

I WANT THIS BABY OUT! I know I shouldn't complain. I'm not even due yet but these BH are like every 15 to 10 minutes all day long. I think I'm just a little tired and cranky today. I went to see my Chiro. He said Catie is ROA, which I thought as well. Then I went to lunch with my parents and just hung out with my Mom while she did errands. I helped her carry a painting up four flights of stairs Smile I think it is time for some lay on the couch time Smile Hope you ladies are all doing well today.

Karen - yes it is from BRU with the drop down side. How cool that we got the same one.
