I forgot you had GD, I would for sure start trying at home remedies for induction and also find out where you are on the Bishops score to see if your body is ready for a medicalized induction. I was induced with pitocin with my DS due to low AF from my placenta failing. It went amazingly well and I had my son withint 6.5 hours of being hooked up to the IV. Sometimes it's a needed jump start for you body.
Could you talk to your midwives to see if they will do a sweep? I wouldn't ordinarily suggest going behind your dr's back, but if you (or any of us) don't trust their judgement anyway . . . .
Sorry you have to deal with the worst dr today. Stay strong and stick with how YOU want your pregnancy and birth to go. I know you're tired of it all. It's almost over.
They don't think the sweep will work??? Well, tell them your friend had one done a bit ago and I am contracting up a storm right now. They aren't painful, but they are more rythmic...time will tell I guess if it works or not. ITA with the PP, can maybe a midwife do it if the doctor won't???
Hey, Jenny - I just popped in to see how things were going, and WOW! You've got some crazy things happening, Momma!! Okay, first thing's first - DEEP BREATH. At some point in the next week or two, you're going to look back on all this craziness and laugh because you'll have this perfect little baby in your arms and none of it will matter anymore. But for now, remember that YOU'RE the mommy, and this is YOUR experience, YOUR body and YOUR baby, so go with what your gut tells you. I'm sorry that people (docs) keep telling you that your decisions are wrong - that's crap! You do whatever your heart tells you, and that will be the right decision in the end. Sheesh, the last thing you need right now is all this stress...
(((BIG HUGS))) to you!! :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:
While I realize some of you may disagree with my decision, we believe it is the appropriate course to go ahead with the induction. The diabetes creates risks that are not commonplace and all of the doctors are telling us this is the best thing. Heck, they are practically begging us to do this. Maybe I am making a mistake but it is one I'm willing to make. She is at about a -2 station, I'm 50% effaced and not dialted at all. Bishop's Score is 5. So we start with the cervidil tonight and work from there. That's all for now. Please wish me luck.
I love you to death hun! I know this has been hard for you. Have they given you a time frame that they think things will start to work???
I wish you all the luck in the world!
i hope things go smoothly for you!!! Good Luck!!!
I hope the cervadil does the trick and you don't need Pitocin at all. Lots of great labor vibes to you!
And I also forgot about the GD (I blame pregnancy brain!) so I realize that has its own complications.
Sure hope it goes smooth and easy for you!!!
Just want to say I have had Pitocin twice and it was not bad for me, both births with zero meds so do not go into it thinking it will be the worst. Catie will be so worth everything you have been through. I truly wish you all the best. ELV
Good luck! KUP if you can!
Jenny, you are doing what you feel is right, and thats always the best choice. (I also claim preggo brain in that I forgot about the GD issue)
I'm her birth buddy and will keep you all updated as I hear from her. ELV Jenny and can't wait to meet your little Catie! :bigarmhug:
Jenny, it is your decision & you have done your research and know what's best for you & Catie! I'm thinking of you & sending you lots & lots of (((ELV)))
Jenny- you are doing what you feel is best for you and your little girl. I hope everything goes well for you- KUP when you can. ELV!!!
Wondering about your timeline (as I'm eager for news!) Wasn't sure if you were being admitted for the Cervadil or if they were putting it in and letting you go home (I had it with Jordan, and didn't have to stay - but it also didn't work for me, which was a bummer). If you're still around, please let us know when you're checking in. And if you're already there, I can't wait for news! Lots of ELV coming your way!
I'm so happy that you will get to meet Catie today! I'll be checking for updates all day! ELV!
Thinking of you and hoping things are going well!
You need to do what you feel is best, there's nothing wrong with that. I am sending you ELV's and I hope your induction goes as smoothly and quickly as mine did.
Good luck Jenny! You really made an informed decision, and have stuck to your guns. I wish you all the best, and can't wait to hear all about it, and see pics!
Thinking of you Jenny!
