Thread: Induction Question

Has anyone been induced by vaginal tablets rather than pitocin? Anyone have any experience with this?

Yep I was induced using Cervadil and didn't require pitocin (until I started pushing and labor stalled). Mind you I was in the VERY EARLY stages of labor when I got the cervical ripener. I was in labor for 20 hours. The contractions got pretty intense about 4 or 5 hours after getting the ripener placed and I got my epi about 8 hours later, at a whopping 1 cm dilated . Course once I got my epi I started dilating at the recommended 1 cm per hour.
