I hope things are going well for you today. I had a day and a half of what your describeing with my second baby. I never lost a "plug", just lots of mucous that was eventually tinged. As far as your emotions I felt the same way, it's hard to comprehend the idea of looseing your "only child". My ds loves his little sister and it's been better then I imagined it would be. I'm sure you'll adjust fine
Sorry I'm late! Welcome to your lodge. I'm glad to hear that your BP has gone down, I hope it stays that way!
Jacki, do you and your DH have different blood types? ABO incompatability is frequently a cause of jaundice. The epidural might have caused issues with the BF though. I'm expecting my baby to be jaundiced because I'm O+ and DH is A+. Anyways.
I hope that your blood pressure continues to stay down, and you continue to be relaxed and healthy!
sorry for the generic birth story, but he's here!!!
Okay guys never in a million years would I think I would have this story to tell you.
So you know that I was having contracts on friday, 15 min ones. By Saturady morning they had seemed to space out and all but stop, some 7 mins some even 30 mins appart. I cleaned my carpet with Bren, we played playdo. We went out shopping. These were the worst feeling contracts but so sporadic but they last about 1 min. I was in a lot of pain really, wondering how if this was early labor I was going to do it. At 7pm I figured I better at least get checked... that way I wou ldn't have to wake Brennan up in the middle of the night. We packed up. Much to my utter disbelief that I was in labor... we even left the camera at home. I was checked at 8ish. I wasn't contracting regulary, the monitor couldn't even pick up them... the majority were in my low low abdemon and butt and pelvis. I was at that point 5cm and 80% baby head and water bulging. I thanked God. She monitored and called my doctor. He told her to give me a sleeping pill and he'd see me in the morning. At around 8:30 pm I got in the birthing tub. Mike decided to call family. His mom got there, and my contracts finally got close together, I thought we better call my step mom too. I'm in the tub nakey now... just a towel. it was a lot of relief... but then I had the freakiest feeling.. my body started pushing. Now remember it hasn't been more then 2 hours and I figure I'm about 5 still... or not much more. Mike goes and gets the nurse. She says the baby is right there, and that I'm at least 8 but can't tell so much in the water. They get me out (bummer no water births in my town) and they call my doctor. At that point I say to get the anthesologist too because if I'm only 8 and can't push (my body is bearing down horribly and I can feel his head coming out my cerix.) I'm screaming and on the side of the bed. Only able to push through half the contracts. A few mins later my doctor gets in. I beg him to help me. He tells me to get my feet up in the stirups, and I tell him no. But when I do I have the most relief I ever had, Quinlan's had was crowing... two more pushes by himself and he just slid out. I hurt so much I didn't even look. I finally looked down and saw him. He is so wee!! It was so fast that I did tear quite a bit... back and front. So I got my natural birth.
His stats were actually 6lbs 7oz, I grow the smallest babies I tell you! He's the sweetest little guy, but after his circumcism last night he had me up all night, after two days of it, I'm almost a zombie, and now he's slightly jaundiced and having a rougher time nursing. So any prayers for sleep and nursing would be welcome. I'm so in love though. I'm slinging him right now. He's pretty pukey too. I'm thinking my milk that just came in or is coming in is too much for him... I wonder if my body still thinks it's nursing Brenners.
Oh and a funny fact... I don't have proof, no camera but apparently I gave birth so fast that my make up didn't even get messed up... I guess I looked great. Is that funny or what??? Here is a link to our pictures. http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?use...cdate=20070305
update from last night:
We had our first co-sleeping with both boys. It went pretty well. Quinners nursed every 1-3 hours, but wonderfully comforted right back down. Bren woke up crying once when I was changing a diaper but daddy got him comforted back down. I imagine this will be difficult and Bren is much more jealous today. I'm so I love with this guys though! Since I got SOME sleep I feel much better. I can handle waking up as long as the rugrats let me go to sleep some. I hadn't slept more then 2 hours for 3 days!
Congrats! For some reason I am unable to view the pics, I'll try on my other computer.
Congratulations! I hope you get some sleep and heal quickly I can't see the pictures either?
Congrats!! I can't view the pictures either - I think maybe the URL got squished together (with those ...s in the middle).

And you were all woprried about inducing labor yourself and everything else, and out pops your son to foil your plans, eh?
That's fantastic that you had such a quick and uneventful birth, I am only sorry you didn't get to document it! But hey, you got your natural birth with NO stalls or problems, it seems.
Post lots of family picture, I demand to see the brothers together after a week or two to compare their features
Congrats! I am so happy that you got your natural birth without any induction! I am sure Bren & Quin will be friends in no time...just takes some adjustment for everyone to see where they fit in.
