    Oh yay!!! Thanks guys!!!

Deb, you used to live in Smithton?? Wow, small world!!

Well I suppose I could start with telling you more about me. I am 29, married to Mike since 01/03. He is truly the love of my life. We lived together for 2 years before getting married, both here and in Oklahoma, where he's from. He works as a foreman for a road work contractor. They basically work for the DOT. This is both of our first baby. We also have 5 furbabies... 3 ferrets and 2 chinchillas. One of the ferrets is here now trying to type with me lol. If you guys click on my webpage there's lots of pics of them all. This baby was totally planned. We were using different b/c methods up till this point. We got a clearblue easy ovulation test, and the day we bought it, I took one, and it was pos for ovulation!! So we went to "work" for 2 days, and a few weeks later, POSITIVE!!

If you are wondering where the name trukgirl comes from, I'll explain. I have had the same name on yahoo for the last 8-9 yrs or so. I was a truck driver (YES that kind of truck, an 18 wheeler) for the last 9 yrs up until I got pg. I had a previous m/c because of being in the truck, so that's why I got outta there as soon as we found out. (I was only 6-7 wks, about 7 yrs ago, and it was with my ex. I really don't think that it was meant to be.) I drove over the road for about 4 years. I have been to every state in the lower 48, every major city, and been on almost every interstate. It was quite the experience, and taught me a lot about life. I met a LOT of people. Good and bad, but I would say about 90% good . I have pictures from all over the country. I have so many CD's full, and so many others before I got my digital camera that I haven't scanned yet. Most of my over the road time has been spent going back and forth to California. For the last few years I have been driving local, home every day. I joined the union and never looked back to over the road. I highly doubt I will go back to work for several years. If we have another baby, he promised me I could stay with them for at least the first 5 years of their lives. So for those of you guys that have quit their jobs for whatever reason, I am with you. For the last 8 mos I sort of feel like I've lost my identity, and I'm being a bum living off my hubby. I am starting to get over this now, I know it's silly. I have been working since I turned 16. Before I was a truck driver, I was in the Coast Guard. I joined 2 weeks after I graduated high school.

Anyways here's a couple of pics from my phone... The first is me sitting in the cab of my truck waiting on a load one day, The second is the Mack daycab I drove for the last 1.5 yrs. On the trailer is a John Deere trackhoe.

If you guys want to know anything else, just let me know hehe. I would be glad to answer any questions about trucks if you have any.
Mike is also a former truck driver. That's how we met!! Its NO surprise to me at all that 2 former truck drivers would have conceived a BOY!! LOL!!!

As far as my current condition, I guess I should start with the m/w appt I had on thurs. I had my group b strep test, but I don't know the results yet. I did happen to get my first internal. I was quite surprised, she said I was 1.5 cm, 30% eff, and he's already at -1 station! I felt her touch his head, and I think it scared him because he jerked! Besides swelling & peeing all the time, only other thing is my BH's. I was curious the other day and timed them, and they are over a min long, but not regular. The most I have had was like 4 in an hour. But sometimes I don't even get one for a whole hour. A little confusing heh.

Welcome to your lodge and congratulations on getting this far!
I am totally wth you on feeling like I am bumming of my partner, although I know that's silly and he doesn't mind supporting his family. It's just strange to me to be without a job, I have had one since I was 16, too. I am thinking about getting a very part time job in a few weeks, just one day a week or so, just for something to do and to earn some cash so I can spend it without feeling guilty. I will work for a friend of mine that own a bead store, it is a really low key job and I can take the baby.
I think it's great that you were a truck driver! What an expereince!

Sounds like you're really getting ready! Yeah, I used to live in Smithton. DH and I lived there for 7 years. We used to go to the fireworks in Millstadt every July 4. Have you seen them? Maybe if you haven't gone into labor by then you can go and "scare" him out LOL.

Seriously, though, glad things are going so well for you. I also quit working (full time) to be a SAHM. Well, mostly, but I still work part-time. But our kids have not been in daycare for 4 years now, except for the one summer DH was gone full-time in the military. It took a little getting used to, but has been quite rewarding. I worked full time during the day when my first two were babies, so I usually only got them for dinner and bedtime. I enjoyed being able to work full time and still be a part of my children's lives, but I do not regret leaving the full time world of work.

Hi JoAnn - congratulations on your lodge.

I can't believe that with the name Trukgirl I never stopped to think that you might be a truck driver. You must have some incredible stories to tell. I can totally relate to what you mean about now feeling like a bit of a bum staying home. I am going through the same thing, even though I work from home. I am not getting hardly any work done lately - or housework/cooking for that matter - and even though DH tells me I'm on "maternity leave" I still feel like a bum relying on him so much. BUT, I know all that will pass once the baby is here. I know I'll have more than enough responsibility with the baby. Anyway, sorry, not trying to make this about me.
