Congratulations on getting your lodge, Juli!!!
Welcome to the lodge!!!
Sounds to me like your babe is doing great. Remember too that at this stage u/s weight measurements can be WAY off (could be 2lbs in either direction) so don't get too hung up on the baby's weight change between appointments. On the flip side, if you are monitoring your weight gain and you notice it levels off or you lose a couple of lbs it can mean labour is not far off. Of course, as of 36 weeks or so labour isn't far off anyway LOL!
Anyway sending lots of good energy - thinking of you!

Right now this baby won't drop, my cervix is so high, I live in SW Pa, and go to a dr. in northern WV, and she says "This baby's in Pittsburgh!" I've only been dialated at 1 for two weeks, I'm getting very discouraged. I feel like labor will never come at this point. Can someone tell me that he can drop very quickly and labor can start, is that true, or do we just continue to drag on unless something changes?
Juli-
It's absolutely true that you can be high and tight and 12 hours later baby can be practically popping out. Do NOT get discouraged! Keep your chin up!
Labor can be long and slow or short and fast. It all just depends. But I actually think the news you got about the baby being high is better than hearing the baby is low and about to come because then you really do wait and wait and wait. A friend on my birthing board waited like 4-5 days at 4 cm and +2 or +3 station. All of us were like, omigosh, how are you keeping that baby up there? But of course she wasn't doing anything one way or another. Eventually all babies come out.
My labors were pretty fast. My first was 3 hours 55 minutes and my second was 5 hours 11 minutes. And before labor, I was telling everyone "nothing's happening. No, REALLY, nothing is happening." And then pop and I was on my way. (Pop being my water breaking.)
So here I am rambling but my point is that you are fine and that your baby is going to come out sooner rather than later.
I agree w/ Jennie,
dropping and dilating/effacing do not necessarily go hand in hand and can happen at any time, and in any AMOUNT of time. I was 10 cm, fully effaced and pushing and DS hadn't dropped. 'course, that had to do partially with me laboring on my back the whole time, but the point is, he dropped while I was pushing and he was born!
don't stress, babies come when they're good and ready and you're body responds exactly the way it needs to in order to make that happen.
