Yay for 36 weeks!!
Happy 36 weeks! Congrats on making the milestone and having so many less worries.
YAY!!! Ariana and Jordan are going to be racing you pretty soon, LOL!!! I am glad everything is working out. I can't wait to meet your new SURPRISE!!!
I'm so glad you reached this milestone!
The last month can be a bit hard on the body, but it's so short-lived and, IMO, a lot easier on the body than the first month with a newborn!
I'm with ya on the getting easily worn out. Man! I ran errands for 2 hours yesterday and felt as if I'd been out for 8!
welcome to your lodge!
Hurray for 36 weeks!
I think Bob would be ok with doing some errands for you. He's a great guy.
Rest up. It will help keep baby Apple growing on the tree.
Well, my FIL came over today and looked at my nose (those on my March 06 BB, do you remember that with David?) He said it hasn't changed yet, so I should still have time for baby to bake.
For those who don't know/remember, when I was 35 weeks with David we went to dinner with my in-laws. My MIL and FIL looked at my nose and said "your nose has changed, you'll have that baby within 10 days." I said "WHAT??" I had never heard of such a thing! They both said, "yes, your nose is flatter, you'll have the baby within 10 days."
I was all paranoid then, thinking my nose looked funny. I posted about it on my birth board b/c it made me paranoid. No one else had heard of that either ...well ...I had David the next week! Craziness!
So, anyway ....according to my FIL, my nose hasn't changed yet! LOL!
Where can we sign up for this nose test?
Interesting nose theory!! lol. I wonder if I sent your FIL some random pics of me, then a recent one, he'd be able to tell me if mine has changed.
haha, I love the nose story, and congrats on 36 weeks, that must be really nice to make to your David point.
I really hope that you get to keep feeling so well and enjoy the last few weeks
Julya, that is too funny!
hahaha great! now we'll have a huge thread of women posting old pics of their noses and new pics now excuse me while I go study mine in the mirror
:biglaugh: Y'all are funny!! I can totally imagine y'all looking at your noses now! We soooo need a nose thread!
I'll ask FIL how it changes. I know he said it gets "flatter", but I'll see if I can get more specifics.
All I know is that my nose is the first thing to swell and truly grows until I feel it takes over half my face! My mother was so worried about it with my first that she actually asked th Dr. if it would return to normal, I was mortified!
WTG on 36wks! I've also heard so many stories about going into labor/water breaking in Target, but I suppose it's just a common last minute shopping destination for preggos.
Interesting about the nose theory! Could be true for me, but then again, having gained a metric ton just makes everything on my face seem bigger.
Julya, I vaguely remember that nose story, but I didn't take it too seriously, and now I'm wishing I did. I wonder if the nose looks flatter because the surrounding face gets more puffy. Hmmm, something to think about.
Well, you'll have to give us nose updates from now on.
Congrats Julya for getting so close! I'm so glad to hear everything's well with you & your pregnancy. Hugs!
Woo-hoo 36 weeks! That's great Julya! I hope that nose of yours doesn't go changin' just yet...
Jennie, that makes me feel soooo much better about my looks! haha!! (joking!)

Seriously, though, it is hard to be on-the-air during my last week of pregnancy. People keep saying "you're going to pop any day now, aren't you?" "When are you due anyway?" ....things like that. It comes from complete strangers too. I'm not sure what a good answer is, but so far I've just said "My due date is May 8th, I'm measuring right on target." Usually, they just go "oh, that's soon!" .....so at least they aren't saying it's far or anything.
I'm really enjoying this time other than that though! I feel very much at peace. Everything is ready, washed ....and instead of making me antsy, it makes me feel at total calm and peace. Like, now I can just relax. That's exactly what I have been doing too. Since I want to make it to May, I've been relaxing in bed with my feet up while at home. Of course, I still work full time outside of the home, and I still have a toddler to chase around at home, but I'm taking it super easy after that Target trip the other day.
Off to eat breakfast ...lol ...I'm craving grits! YUM!
Julya, you have a great attitude! I think when people say you seem to be close they are happy and excited for you. A new baby is one of the most exciting, joyful things for most people, and this is how they participate vicariously.
Thinking of you today. How are you doing?
Julya, I can't imagine being on TV while pg, my double chin would take up the entire screen! You don't seem to have that problem from what I've seen.
That's great that you have everything ready! I need to borrow a page from your playbook. I haven't even packed my bag.
How are you feeling? Is the rest helping?
Sounds like you are in a great place with the last month.
How are you doing today? I too love your attitude. I love being pregnant and hate those last few weeks where everyone seems to be pushing babies to get out. I say enjoy it to the fullest. I was so disappointed that Cael came three weeks early. I fully expected to enjoy him all to myself until 41 weeks.
I couldn't get online as much at work this weekend because our computer with internet access crashed. Pooh! They are fixing it today.
On Friday, we had severe thunderstorms with tornado warnings/funnel clouds rolling through. I was at work from 3:30am until 5pm. Whew! It was exhausting, but at the same time ...I live for that stuff. All of our mets came in, so it wasn't too bad. I was in charge of updating the website/newsroom. I stayed seated most of the time. My ankles still swelled, but I went home and crashed and Dh brought me a PB&J sandwhich to eat in bed. LOL!
Today, after sleeping in (David came to my room at 7am, hoped in bed with me and we both slepted until 9am! Nice!), I went to a children's consignment sale here. Everything wsa half price because it was the last day of the sale. I found an adorable nursing top for post baby, a baby sheet ...and yes, I couldn't resist ...I bought a few little girl outfits! We don't know the gender, but I found two outfits for $1 each and a pink recieving blanket for .50 cents! How can you beat that? I was going to buy the green and yellow ones, but then I thought ...shoot, for that price, I might as well just buy the pink ones! We've still got all of David's clothes, so if this baby is a boy we are set.
Oh - funny story - last night at work our production assistant (camera guy) came up to me as I was putting on my make-up. He is young, in his early 20s, and not married. He's a great guy though. Anyway, I could tell he was somewhat worried. He goes, "um, Julya? What happens if your water breaks on-the-air?" I started laughing ...I said "that would be bad!" He goes, "no, serioulsy, um ...what do I do?" I said, "I'll just toss to the anchor and then I'll call Bob." LOL ...he goes, "well, how do I help you? Do I need to bring a pillow or something?" hahahahaha!! I could tell he was thinking it was like the movies where you just have the baby right there! hehe! Yvette, our anchor who is the Mom of two, assured him that everything would be okay. It was cute! Now, of course, I have to play around and grab my tummy every now and then when he is there. hehe!
I was at work from 3:30am until 5pm.
:eek:Oh my word! I'm glad your body held up, even though the cankles made an appearance!

I don't know whether to or  It's so cliche, isn't it? If only labor lasted the span of a sitcom!

LOL! I know! He asked if he should bring me a pillow. hehe! I told him to boil some water ....hahaha! He's really young, just out of high school, but a sweet kid.
That's too funny! He must have really been worrying about what to do.
What a great story from your camera man! It's sweet that he is looking out for you...even if he has no clue...like your water will break and the baby will fall right out, LOL!
about the camera guy, I don't expect much more from men w/o kids unless they are going into the medical field.
Julya, that anchor is a hoot! Hmmm, maybe you can suggest he have a supply bag ready in case you need his help and to make sure he includes a leather strap in case you need to bite down on something to help you get through the pain.
No kidding, my dad actually asked me about that before my first labor.
Thanks for the laugh today!
lol about the camera guy's question. What a long day you had!
that is too funny about the camera guy!
Had my 36 weeks midwife appointment yesterday.
I'm GBS negative!!!
Also, I can't believe I'm almost 37 weeks along! WOW! Y'all don't know how good that feels after having David early last time. I'm just like ...wow ...I'm really almost officially full-term! I think I will make it to May.
We talked about potential complications and all that at my midwives appointment ..the rare thing, but things she wanted to let me know what their standard proceedure is. I feel comfy about all that.
All looks good!!
blood pressure good ...weight gain good ....baby's heartrate in the 130s.
Oh - in case you are wondering, they have offered to check me "if I want", however they said that it doesn't really mean anything, just that some women like to know. So, I've been turning those down. My real reason is that I want to make it as far along as possible this time, so I don't want to get anything going down in that area. However, if I make it to 40 plus weeks ...I'm sure I'll be asking her to check! LOL!
Yay for a great appointment!
Sounds like at good appt, and congrats on almost 37 weeks.
Aww, that camera guy sounds so sweet!
WTG on a great appt & being GBS-negative!! One less thing to worry about!
And hooray for full term!
Neat about the girl stuff you bought!
Great news at the appt! I'm hoping to experience your joy at joining later this time too, I want to actually feel done before having this baby.
Yay for a great appt!!
Sounds like a great appt. That kid (the camera guy) sounds sweet. It's nice that he was worried about what to do and thought to ask. Though, I'd probably be joking with him now, too.
Congrats on making it to full-term. I hope that you get to use those pink items. I can't wait to find out what you're having.
WTG on the GBS and on almost hitting 37 weeks! I know you are so relieved!
Okay ..too funny ...is the full moon *really* this Sunday night??? Guess who works Sunday night and guess which camera man is on duty Sunday night?? Hahaha!!
I really do want this baby to stay in until May, but how ironic that Luke (our camera guy) was just freaking out last Sunday, and this Sunday is a full moon?
In that case you totally have to pull one over on him!
oh julya! i'd totally tease the camera guy when i first saw him that day "you know lots of women go into labor around the full moon right??" then fake labor later hehehe
Yup, Julya, that is when the moon is full next! I've always found that the days after that during the waning period is what drew out my babies. So you never know.
But wouldn't it be funny if you did go into labor then! That anchor would freak!
Hi Julya :wavehello:
I've been *stalking* you pretty much this entire pregnancy and I can NOT tell you how THRILLED I am that you have made it past the big 36 week mark. I love reading how positive you are, and I feel confident that you are going to have the birth that you have hoped for. I can't wait to hear all about it!!! KUP on your nose, and please don't scare that poor boy with the full moon information
Lots of love coming your way hon. I'm watching you
ive heard of full moons bringing babies!Who knows!
Hey Julya, how ya doing?
Any pranks up your sleeve for that anchor?
Hey Julya, how ya doing?
Any pranks up your sleeve for that anchor?
Thanks for thinking of me.
The guy at work isn't an anchor though ...lol ..he's a production assistant (camera operator). I've *got* to trick him somehow though! Any ideas??? I can get my co-worker in on it with me (the other Mom who is there). hehe!
I'm doing great though! I still get "how are you feeling?" about 20 times a day, but life is great.
I made it to 37 weeks TODAY! FULL TERM!!! WhooHoo!!!
There is one strange thing though - I have had no less than two dreams now that Bob has missed the birth. Isn't that weird? In both dreams, it was a very easy and gentle birth. I was at the birth center with the midwives ...a water birth. Dh works 45 mintues away, and in the dream ...I called him to come, but by the time he arrived I had already had the baby in a really short labor. What do y'all think that means? Am I just nervous about him working so far away maybe? I hope he makes it. LOL!
That's cute about your cameraman! You totally have to pull a prank on him, maybe dump some water on your pants at the end of your shift or something like that....
