Nadine, I read your birth story yesterday and you had me crying so much (I felt like I was in the room with you) that I had to wait until today to come back and post! What an amazing, amazing birth story! Giving birth naturally to twins in the OR must have been so extremely difficult and intimidating, BUT YOU DID IT! I'm so proud of you! And it sounds like you really had an amazing OB and nurse too! And such big babies, for twins! Wow! You did a really great job! And I'm so happy for you and M, especially considering what the two of you have been though together. You are one strong amazing woman! Congratulations of your two beautiful babies!

Sweetheart I am just thrilled for you. Thank you so much for sharing that beautiful birth story with us, it is so inspiring for me to read as I await my own babies birth. I am so proud of how strong you were in labor, of the way that you nurtured those two little ones for SO LONG, the sacrifices that you made wth being on bedrest for so long, and the way that you got the birth experience that you wanted.
Thank you, bless you, and welcome to the world sweet twins,

Great birth story! Wow!
How is everything going?
well since I actually have hands free (we're visiting grandma) I thought I'd update. Obviously I'm busy, I'm in awe of Erika who manages to post still, lol. Things are crazy, I underestimated how much work two babies were going to be. Despite the craziness however, I'm crazy about them. They're fun, and beautiful and sweet and really very good babies. They rarely both cry at once, until after 11 when dad goes to work.. Odessa is way ahead of her brother, developmentally.. she interacts with me, has more awake time and we play little games together. She's just now starting to coo, and totally has me wrapped around her finger. Kaden owns me in a totally different way. He can always get me to hold him by acting hungry, whether he is or not. He has the cutest forehead, it wrinkles up and with his bald little head it makes him look like a pissed off old man. I'm amazingly able to feel close and attatched to both babies, in a similar yet different way.
Neither peanut is really growing, though Kaden is growing much better than Odessa. If you remember we had nursing issues with Odessa, she's a lazy baby who takes a while to latch, and will sometimes forget how to at all. I sometimes have to do a brief finger suck training to get her to remember. Afterwards, if the letdown slows or stops for too long, she gives up and goes to sleep or pulls off. We were supplementing with about an oz a day of formula, and I was feeling good about weaning her off of it, but at her last ped appointment she had only gained 2 oz and hadn't grown at all anywhere else. We've moved up to one full bottle of double mixed formula (2scoops for 4oz) once a day, or, top her off with a little after every feeding. After her weight check and once I can get a stash of BM built up, I'm hoping to ditch that stuff altogether. I'm trying really hard to not get down about not exclusively bfing my babies. I'm working really hard at it but I feel like I'm giving up too easy. I feel like a first time mom all over again.
Anyway, I'm healing just fine myself. I don't feel like I squeezed two babies out. Honestly I felt back to myself the day I left the hospital except the swollen feet. My legs and feet aren't swollen any more and I'm down 43 lbs from the morning I had my babies, and still losing. I think I could be back to my old self in a few months.
Anyway, I'm off to love on some babies, miss you and hopefully I can get back to posting. I do check in often but I almost never have time for posting. My dropshots account has new pictures frequently, I tend to take a million of them (okay teresa I'll never make fun of you again for taking all those pictures) so if you want to stalk it, it's http://www.dropshots.com/Montys_Mom
bumping so I can save this later
