Thanks gals! I don't have time for a long intro right now because we're moving furniture and I'll be needed in a sec and then I have to go get DD #1 from the sitter's house. I promise I'll come back and give a proper intro later! Smile

Okay, as promised, I'm back for a quick intro. I'm not totally sure what to include, so you may have to indulge me... I will try to post pictures later...

I'm Jenny, 29, and I have been married for 4 1/2 years to DH Tim, who just turned 31. I have been a middle school band director, but I will be a SAHM this next year, but still teach a few private lessons on flute and maybe French Horn. DH is an airline pilot. We have one DD, Peyton Elizabeth, who is our Halloween baby. Here's a quick summary of her birth:

I woke up on 10/31/05 not feeling 100% but still went to work anyway. I started feeling "crampy" at work and told my co-worker that I was going to go home and lie down to rest. I got home at about 1:30 or so and proceeded to take a bath, take a shower, etc. all with DH freaking out that I was in labor. I wasn't sure at that point. I did have contractions, but they were very sporadic. We ended up leaving, on DH's insistance, and going to the hospital. We got there at around 5:30 and my water broke in the triage area. They finally got me into a room and then I was able to get up and walk around and go to the bathroom. I sat down on the potty and started feeling the urge to push. DD was born at 7:48 pm. She's a sweetheart, although take that with a grain of salt as she is 2 1/2... Smile

So, now I'm 37 1/2 weeks into this pg with DD #2. I have felt pretty good, but heartburn and restless legs have been killing me. I can't get any sleep these days. We are going for all-natural birth #2 and I'm so excited! I feel like with my first pg I was not that informed about things. This time, I've read books- Henci Goer, Ina May Gaskin, etc. and I've seen the Business of Being Born, and I've just done more research. I am now more committed to as little intervention as possible, even moreso than I was before. This time, I'm GBS negative, so I won't even have to have an IV! Next birth, I'm doing a homebirth. DH just wasn't that on board with it this time, and now he is, but I don't want to switch care givers this late.

Let's see, what else? Oh, the other boards I hang out on are the Oct. 05' board from DD, the Photography board for my budding hobby, and the cloth diapering board- my new obsession!

Anything else yall' want to know, just ask! I will get pictures up soon!

Hey Jenny...I'm so excited for your lodge!

Oh, and I'm a flute player too! I was drum major in high school...totally could have been a band director, but when I started college as a music major, I realized I didn't like the program Sad but, I still play the flute Smile

How have you been feeling? Sorry to hear about the restless legs...

Wow- a fellow flutist! How cool!

The legs are killing me. I only got 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night due to that. I don't see it getting any better until this kid comes out!

As far as this pg goes, I am ready for this baby to come with one exception:

The hospital says that we are responsible for finding a peaditrician to come and care for the baby while she's in the nursery. Our ped. doesn't have privilidges at this hospital- I'm NOT going to randomly call pediatricians to see if they can go to that hospital. I'm at a loss for what to do. Monday I'll start calling around, but my goal is not to stay at the hospital too long.

So, we'll see...

Aww, you all are so cute. To give you some hope, the last couple of days my RLS went away. I think Catie moved off of the nerves somehow. Last night they just felt like led weights. I almost woke DH up to tell him Smile

That sucks about the pedi situation; I hope you can get something figured out.

My mom's dad had red hair and on DH's side, his sister and all three of her kids have red hair. It was a surprise, but we did know there was that option. Smile

We went the 2nd week of June to the Bolivar Peninsula, south of Galveston. It was fun!

Wow, you sure had a fast labor with Peyton! Love the pictures, and that vacation sounds awesome!!! Sucks about the RLS, that can't be fun at all! But soon, soon you won't have to deal with it!

I took flute for two years in grade school, I sucked at it. I'm musically inept. ROFL (my kids even tell me to stop singing, but I won't - I love to sing!)

yes, your vacay looks wonderful! I totally needed a babymoon Smile and you and DD are so beautiful! I love her red hair. The same thing happened to DH's brother...their son ended up w. red hair and they'd forgotten about the fact that his wife's great uncle was a redhead...too cute!

I hope you have some relief from RLS soon....how are you feeling today?

I got a little more sleep than I did the night before- about 5 hours I think. My two year old is being her feisty self today, so she's wearing me thin, but I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about it! Smile

Jenny...2 things.

1. What part of Texas are you in? I noticed your Baylor shirt. Wink I'm just noth of Fort Worth.

2. Has P been acting wierd lately? H&E are acting out something terrible the last 2 days. I mean, ALL OUT TANTRUMS!!!! If it's a sign of how they will act after the new baby arrives, i have to admit, I'm scared.

We're in Houston, unfortunately... Smile I lived in Plano from when I was 9 until we moved here 3 or so years ago. I like the Dallas area better than the Houston area.

P has def. been acting strange. I've been assured by my birth board that it's the age- the 2 1/2 mark seems to be very trying with tantrums, yelling, whining, etc. I'm with you- scared that I won't be able to patiently deal with her after the baby comes! We'll commiserate together, okay? Wink

Thanks Alicia! You too! DD is tired today- she fell off her big girl bed last night- we got her new furniture and didn't put up the rail again. So, we'll see what we do tonight. She's fine, but has a pretty fat lip to show for it. Smile

Copied from my birth board:

This morning I had my 38 week appt. I got there and the office was busy, which never happens. Evidently Mondays are the worst, and I usually don't go on Mondays. Anyway, I finally got back to my room with DD and DH in tow, and the nurse comes in and says that I'm going to have to wait because one of the doctor's other patients is at the hospital ready to push and it's her 2nd baby. So, DH leaves with DD so he can pack and says he'll come back and get me. I waited for about 40 minutes and then the doc came back in. It was an anoyance, but I'd like her to be there for me too, so I understood. DH got back to pick me up right as I was checking out...

Anyway, everything's the same as last week- including my weight, down to the ounce. The nurse thought that was funny. BP was good, urine good, etc. I am still at 2 cm dialated, cervix still pretty thick and long. So, DH went on his trip today and will be back tomorrow around 9 pm. So, send me some stay put baby vibes until then! Thanks gals!

I'm sure baby will stay put and wait for Daddy to be home. Wink sounds like a good appt, once your waiting was done.

and we're having 2.5 year old issues here too. Natalie's been a little devil lately, I think she knows she's baout to be upstaged as the youngest.

speaking of Houston, I lived in Orange for several years as a kid, and my brother and sister were born in Port Arthur. Thought I'd share my connection to your area. Wink

Welcome to your lodge! We put a body pillow on the floor so Brodie would have a softer landing when he'd fall out of bed, it's helped quite a bit and now he'll crawl down to sleep on the darned thing.

The body pillow is a good idea. I think she hit her lip on the bed frame. I wonder if some of that foam type stuff you can put on the edges of fireplaces would help?

I'm sooooo tired. I think the lack of sleep is finally really catching up with me, and the baby's not even here yet. I am so tired all during the day, and then when I try to go to sleep at night, I can't- restless legs, etc. Come on baby girl- mama wants to sleep!

Sorry you're having such a rough time sleeping! Any chance you could catch a nap sometime to get a little extra rest in before baby comes?

I slept actually a lot better last night! I think I got about 7-8 hours of sleep. I really hope this trend continues.

DH and I DTD this morning and then tonight we took Peyton for a long walk. I've been taking EPO since 37 weeks, so I'm really hoping that something is doing some good! Smile I know this baby will come when she's good and ready. I don't remember being this impatient with the first one. Plus, I can't wait to try my new cloth diapers on her- I didn't do them with DD #1.

DH is going to go play racquetball with a friend and I'm going to watch my newest Netflix arrival- The Devil Wears Prada. I hope it's good- I'm in the mood for a chick flick. Smile

Ooh- I've never seen either of those movies. I'll have to put them in my line on Netflix.

I got another good night's sleep. About 8 hours! Woo Hoo! I hope this continues until the baby comes. DH has been really good about letting me nap and such, too. Smile

We're going for another long walk today. Last night I had a tiny bit of cramping, I think, but my stomach was having issues, so I think it might have been that. But, I know that stomach issues can be a sign of labor coming, too, and I can't think of anything weird that I ate yesterday. DH wants me to wait until Saturday night or Sunday to go into labor because we're having a garage sale on Saturday. Smile

I'm up late again. I lost more mucus plug tonight- more than last time. In fact, I wonder if last time was just increased cervical fluid. I don't know the difference. Anyway, DH is freaking out and says I can't go into labor until after the garage sale tomorrow. I told him that it could still be weeks away. Silly men- getting anxious about everything.

That is so true, men get anxious over anything!!! Hope the garage sale goes well-if I lived nearby, I'd so be there! Im a HUGE garage sale hunter!!!

Well, I think the garage sale was a success! We were out there for about 5 hours in the heat and humidity (welcome back cankles!) and we made about $150. Not bad- I just wanted things OUT of my house.

Last night I think I lost more mucus plug. I'm still not sure if it was mucus plug or normal discharge, but there was a lot more last night than there was a week or so ago. No cramping, which is just like my last pg. I didn't have a single BH that I felt or any contractions until real labor hit. I'm hoping that she'll come Tuesday or Wednesday. Monday we have some errands to do so anytime Tues. or Wed. would be great!
