Hi Megan, Welcome to your lodge!! Looking forward to following another December story:)
Welcome to your lodge Megan!!!
Congrats on your lodge!
Another December lodge! Congrats!
Welcome to your lodge!
Welcome to your lodge!
Welcome to your lodge! Yay for December births!!
YAY!!! I'm so excited about finally having my lodge!!! That means I"m that much closer to being done!
Welcome to your lodge! We're getting so close!
Wow i can't believe you have a lodge for #2 already! Congratulations!!! Doesn't it seem like we were just pregnant and waiting for our July '08 baby's though?
Welcome to your lodge Megan
I had my 36 week appointment today. I found out that Zayne is head down There were serious doubts...at my 22 week appt U/S he was breech so I had him check again at my 30 week appointment and Zayne was transverse (completely sideways!!!!!) I was worried that he wouldn't flip but he did. Unfortunately he's still not engaged but I am 1 cm dilated "yippee skippy". I was 1.5 cm with Lexi for almost 4 weeks so I'm not getting excited about my 1 cm just yet. I'm hoping things start moving soon...I"m really ready to be done!
Sounds like a great appointment!! How is Lexi doing with the idea of being a big sis? I hope you have a restful weekend, and a baby soon!
I believe things are getting closer. Pretty sure I've been (slowly) losing my mucus plug. It's been really gross but hopfully it means things will happen sooner than later. My doula came up this weekend to go over my birth plan and get to know my house. She is so awesome (she drove 2 hours to come to my house)! She gave me some "homework" regarding exercises for me to do (she is a Bradley instructor but since she's so far away I couldn't take her class) and things for DH and I to do together each night to help him get intuned to me and my body.
This weekend DH painted Lexi and Zayne's bedroom. It was a very pink room (when it was just Lexi) and now it is a chocolate color. It's SOOOO different but I LOVE it! Last night we put together Zayne's crib and put the kids' names above their cribs. I'm waiting for some things to come in the mail and then the room will be complete.
Next thing I need to do is pack my hospital bag! I also need to clean out my car so I have somewhere to sit when DH drives me to the hospital! (I am a bit of a pack rat when it comes to my car) I've been putting things off way too much this time around.
OK I have some time so I will do a little intro.
DH and I met in 2002 at my high school graduation. We were married in 2005 right before he was deployed to Iraq and then had our wedding in Sept. 2007 after he returned home. In November of that year (right before Thanksgiving) we found out that we were pregnant with our DD, Lexi.
We weren't "trying" but weren't preventing when we got pregnant with her. It was a very uneventful pregnancy. I had no m/s and everything went VERY smooth. She was measuring big (they thought she would be 10-11 pounds) so they decided to induce. Here is the birth story I posted when she was born...
Alexandrea (Lexi) was born yesterday (Friday August 1,2008 ) at 8:32 PM! She came out screaming weighing 9 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 inches long.
So here's the long and short of it!
I went in on Wednesday to be induced, as you all know. WELL...It didn't work! I was sent home Wednesday night still 1.5 cm dilated. Didn't budge at all. I was told to come back Saturday for the second attempt.
Then late Thursday afternoon DH and I were DTD (because I thought it would help get her here faster) and I thought my water broke. I called the DR and they had me come in and check. My water hadn't broken but since I was already at the hospital they might as well try inducing again because I was 75% efaced, Because of delays they didn't start pitocin until 3:40 AM Friday morning.
MY whole plan of a natural birth was thrown out the window by 8:00 AM. I was getting hit hard with contractions and begged (and cried) for the epideral. I finally got it around noon. My water broke at 5:00PM and I was ready to start pushing at 8:00(10 cm and 100% efaced but still 0 station). Lexi would have been born at 8:15 but the Dr still had not arrived yet, thinking it would take me longer. If you're still reading...that's the story!
WELL...little Lexi was only 8 months old when I found out I was pregnant again(it was April Fools Day when I found out). I was on the mini-pill because I had been breast feeding and aparently once you quit breast feeding the chances of the mini-pill failing increases dramatically! (like 1:20 people get pregnant) Needless to say we were very shocked and not sure what we were going to do. It didn't take too long for DH and I to accept our gift and know that we were blessed.
This pregnancy hasn't been as easy as my last pregnancy but it hasn't been too bad either. I (again) didn't have any m/s and wasn't too exhausted. I have had alot of back pain thoughout this entire pregnancy but that's really been the worst of it.
Welcome to your lodge, Megan!
May I say that I'm very jealous that you had no morning sickness? You are one lucky lady
It sounds like you've got a great doula. I'm so glad that you DH agreed to go with it.
Me too Erica! DH still has his reservations about the whole doula thing but he has really opened up to it and is taking her advice to heart.
Yay for your lodge, Megan!
What a great intro story.
Congrats on your upcoming birth, Megan! Can't wait to see pics of Baby Zane
Im getting so excited for you Megan...Zayne will be here soon....!!!!!
Cant wait to see the pics of the kids bedroom...
Hope you are feeling ok, try and relax for a bit chicky xx
Welcome to your lodge. It was nice to get the history of your previous birth? What is your birth plan this time (home, center, etc.)?
The new bedroom color sounds nice. Do you have pictures?
My plan thus far is to labor at home with my doula(Jen) and DH as long as possible. Then we will head to the hospital (15 mins away) when Jen feels it is time. I REALLY wanted a homebirth but as of now they are still "not legal" in Nebraska and DH didn't want to go underground. I hope by the time I have another baby we will be able to have a homebirth legally.
Wow. That really stinks that they aren't legal in Nebraska. I'm doing the same as you though. If i have another bad experience in the hospital i will probably be doing a home birth next time. Honestly i might just do one next time any way if everything goes smooth.
Sounds like a great plan though! Hope everything works out well for you!
Just checking in hun, hope all is well!
I had my 37 week appt today and have an engaged baby boy and am not quite 3 cm dilated but close. I'm supposed to have Thanksgiving on Thursday and Saturday so I need the baby to either come tomorrow or Sunday OR he needs to wait until next Sunday or Monday to come out. not like babies EVER do what we need them to
WOW!! I hope he does just what you want:)
I'm still pregnant...that's all I know that this point. I've been having horrible BH for the past week but still no change (that I know of) in the pregnancy status.
I hope he comes soon! At least you're already 3 cms - that's 3 less to go once labor kicks in
Thanks for checking in, Megan. The BH's are probably doing something, even if it's just getting your little boy in a better position.
I went to the doc again yesterday who now says "There isn't anything going on down there". SO I'm pretty sure I will be pregnant forever and this baby isn't going to come. I'm supposed to only have a week left but something tells me it's going to be over a week before this baby boy arrives. DH and I have been DTD a couple times a week for the last few weeks and that doesn't seem to be helping. I think I"m going to start sitting on my birth ball at night to try and get things started. I have no other ideas...anyone have any ideas?
So I spent the day home yesterday because DH, Lexi, and I all had the stomache flu. Lexi and DH got sick Monday night and I thought maybe I was lucky and wasn't going to get it. NOPE...Tuesday morning I was only at work for 45 mins when I got sick as well. I was kinda hoping that all the throwing up would jump start my labor but it didn't. I'm much better today but still very tired. I came back to work but haven't been doing a whole lot.
Sorry about the stomach flu...it's making it's way through our house too. Feel better!
Ah, yucky I'm sorry you all going through that! I hope your feeling restored by the morning tomorrow. Wishing you a quick day at work!
Oh, hope you feel better soon!
We are all feeling much better. I think Lexi is still scared to eat much of anything but I'm sure soon she will get hungry and start eating normally again. As for me, I couldn't get enough to eat yesterday! I'm pretty sure I was making up for the days I was sick because I ate NON-STOP all day!
I spoke with my doula last night and she suggested primrose oil to get things started. I think I am going to try and find some toinght but have no clue where to start looking. All I know is I am done being pregnant and am ready to have a baby boy!
I don't know where to find it either, but I wanted to say good luck, and I hope it does the trick!
IF THESE FLIPPIN BRAXTON HICKS DON'T TURN INTO SOMETHING REAL I JUST MIGHT THROW A TEMPER TANTRUM LIKE MY DAUGHTER DOES. I HAVE HAD STUPID BRAXTON HICKS EVERY 7 MINS SINCE I GOT TO WORK THIS MORNING...it's hard to teach behavior kids when your stomache keeps tightening up!
They are moving lower....pretty sure they are still BH but since they are lower maybe they will start doing something productive. I can't believe I am getting so impatient!
I'm glad to hear you are getting over the stomach flu, but sorry to hear your BHs are driving you crazy.
As for the evening primrose oil, I found it at a health food/whole foods store. I also noticed you can get it at Vitamin Shoppe. Good luck! I've been ingesting it once in the morning and once at night. I haven't had the guts to put it on my cervix yet. Maybe this weekend, we'll give it a whirl.
I hope things move along for you soon. I'm sure those BHs are doing something.
Ooohhh, today sounds like your day!! If I was you I'd drink alot of water and see if they do anything. Hope this is it for you hun:)
And they've stopped! I need to just stop hoping and just accept that this baby isn't going to come out any time soon. I think I"m going to follow in Kristen's footsteps and go get a pedicure tonight after work. I need to do some shopping so I'll be going into town anyways.
That sounds like fun, Megan! I hope you enjoy the pampering and that this little guy decides to come out soon.
Thought something might be happening tonight but no, just more braxton hicks. I'm absolutly exhausted so I think I will go to bed early tonight. LOL..early for me!
I am exhausted, I feel cruddy (nausa and crampy), and I am still having BH off and on. You would think this would mean somthing good but I'm pretty sure I'll still be pregnant tomorrow.
Oh boy...I hear ya on everything. EPO can be bought at Target in the vitamin aisle.
I found some EPO so hope that starts working soon!
Now I can add weepy and crabby to my list of whines today....I don't know what my deal is!!! I think I just need to go to bed and take a nap LOL!!!
I hope your feeling better hun, what a drag! He's going to be here SO soon, try and enjoy all the time you have will Lexi before she's a big sister!
How're you feeling this morning? A little better, hopefully?
Hope you're feeling better today.
No update all day, hope you have some big news for us hun!
