Ah, i can hardley believe it! This pregnancy has flown by, as I'm feeling like the next few weeks will do. I'll have to sit down while DD is napping and work on a real intro. In short this will be my second natural delivery, first out of hospital (possible home birth). I feel great, really can't complain much .... yet:) I have lot's going on with the two kiddos I already have and don't spend as much time here as I once did, but I'll be sure to use this lodge lot's and enjoy being here with you all again. Hi to everyone!!

Intro is on the way I promise, weekends are always crazy for me with DH home we try and spend all of our time as a family:) Everything is going well, nothing exciteing to report. I think I'm going to miss the fact that I'm actually in labor until it's intense, with the number of contractions I'm having already I think I'll end up just brushing them off. Anyone else have that happen?

Kind of... I had mild contractions all day and my husband noticed true labour before I did.

Are you going to be one of the first to have a baby before you can even write an intro? heehee

I always brushed my contrax off. I always figured nah it can't be yet lol. Even with ds2 I woke and they were 3-4 mins apart and I tried to fall back to sleep lol

Yay Vanessa! 36 weeks-- times does fly! Wow.

I had that with my 3rd. In fact I barely even mentioned it to Trey before we went to bed one night....and then I contracted all night but mostly slept. It wasn't until I woke up aroun 6ish with lots of bloodly show and contrax that I was working thru that I figured out "this was it!" My other kiddos were later than he was.....so it surprised me to be so "close" to my due date (still late, but less so Smile )

Looking forward to your intro and your homebirth!

Ok, quick intro atempt here:) I met my DH is high school, though we didn't start dateing until after we'd both graduated. We got married when I was 19 and he was 21. We were married 5 months when we found out we were going to be parents. Needless to say, I was shocked.....even though looking back I know I shouldn't have been. I guess it's just not something you think will happen until it does:) Our first child was born at 40wks 5 days after an induced labor which started out with AROM and pit at 3cm, I had a very ruff recovery and new I'd do thing different next time. DD was born at 41 weeks on the money, labor was spontanious, and she was born intervention free (until after delivery) in a hospital. I was given pit and methrogen after she was born to keep me from bleeding. Recovery that time around was so easy, and what I hope I hope for again this time! Down to this pregnancy, I didn't expect the time to go so quickly. Infact as these last few weeks tick by I keep thinking I'm going to wake up one day in labor and think "oh crap I really am going to have this baby!". We're excited to get to know him and watch the kids interact with him. I felt in control and ready the labor, until I got a call from my midwife yesterday telling me my platelet count is too low for them to feel compfortable delivering the babe at the birth center. They don't have hospital privilages, so I have 2 options, I can meet their back up ob and then go to the local hospital when I go into labor and the midwife will be there as a support person and he'll be in charge. The other option is to go back into Anchorage (1 1/2 drive) and finish out the pregnancy with my old midwife and deliver at the same hospital DD was born in. Honestly I'm really torn about the whole thing. I cried about it for several hours last night, and am really dissapointed to get this news just weeks from delivery as it really doesn't give me much time to make a decision. I'm not crazy about the idea of a male doctor, and neither is my DH, but I'm also not crazy about having a long drive into town especially since I don't know if they'd even want to take me back. It just sucks, but I know it's all for a reason, so I'm trying to just trust that God has it all planned out for us. Any prayers would be appreciated, there is still time for things to change, but if they don't I'm prepareing for something I know I can do anyway so I'm optimistic! I'll get some pictures when I have a second to pull out some new ones, I don't have anything shrunk that's new. Thanks for your support gals, you mean a lot to me!

ahhhh i am sorry to hear that things are not going to work out as you had planned for them. Thats a tough choice as to whetered to go to the old palce thats far away or to the hposital where the midwife is not in control. maybe meet with both places and see what feel you get for the old place as well as of the OB. hopefully all will work out great for you in the ened and this will be your easiest labour and quickest recovery of them all

oh I'm so sorry you have to make that choice. That's a real bummer! I know if I was told I couldn't do the homebirth I'd be down too. I know you're so close but would they consider testing again in a week or 2 and you could really work on getting your platelets up? Have you been taking anything to help with it? Like alfalfa? Just a thought. I hemorraged with my first 2 so I know it can be scary and with your platelets low and history of hemorraging, it might be a good idea to be close to help (although the midwife would probably have the pit and methagon sp?? with her) Anyway, I'm sorry, that really stinks to be told you can't do a homebirth. GL with deciding!

Welcome to your lodge!

Sorry you have to make that choice… I often wonder how many of these tests actually make a difference – I never had any of the tests with DS1, but if I would have, would they have sent me to the hospital?

Have you figured out what the risks of a low platelet count are?
Here’s a link: http://www.doctorndtv.com/FAQ/detailfaq.asp?id=7992

Are there any naturopathic/medical remedies that would help (vit K, iron, etc…) and have you tested again?

Tell us what you decide!

Of course I do!

I've been doing a lot of thinking and still don't know exactally what I'm going to do. I'm putting my self on a crazy green diet (along w/ some other things that are supposed to help). I'm going to buy some clorofil tomorrow and add that to the menu. At this point I'm just holding out some hope that things could get better. If not I'm sure I'll be fine, I feel better about the whole situation now, but can't help but pray that it'll improve. Thanks for the info and encouragement, I'll read up more on it today. I do know that bleeding is a huge concern, and honestly don't want to risk that.

I hope the loading up on the greens and stuff helps!! If not you know it's God's way of saying it might be safer in your situation to be in a hospital in case of hemorraging. ((HUGS))

I've talked to my midwife, and my old midwife. Now it's just a waiting game. My current m/w is willing to do another blood draw in 2 weeks, and will still let me have a birthcenter birth if I'm above 100, I'm only at 84 now so I've been getting a lot of "that probably won't happen". FYI clorofil isn't bad:) I'm drinking it in water and it has a minty taste. We're going to get a juicer this weekend so I can start drinking my kale. It'd be nice to get more of the nutrients without having to eat it everyday! I'm still feeling good for the most part, just tired and almost ready to have this baby. At this point I'd like him to go 40 weeks so I have the best chance to be healthy. I'm confident it'll all go the way it's supposed to so I'm not worried about it. Magali, I can't wait to get to see you what do come down for next time? How is the DH doing, I've not been following?

Good luck with your platelet levels! I had to take the liquid chlorophyll as a preventative since I'm vegetarian and I was slightly anemic the last few weeks. I mixed mine into Hawaiian Punch - it did the trick! I also love kale anyway, I bake it into "chips" with some finely ground salt. Diet makes SUCH a difference - I bet you'll be just fine. Smile

Doing well here today, nothing much big to report. We met with the back up ob yesterday, and I think I'd be ok if I end up with him. I'm still praying that doesn't happen:) It's sunny here as well, and it looks warm but it's NOT! I took the kids to the grocery store and it was crazy cold walking in. I'm not a fan of wind, especially the cold kind. I was hopeing that it was spring, but I'm not going to be that lucky. I go Thursday to the m/w and have my blood drawn that day, so I hope to hear something Friday, but I'm not sure? I'll keep you all posted. I'm going to keep it short cause I'm having my Grandma over for lunch and I need to get things together. Thanks for all the support.

Oh boy, what a lot to deal with so late in the "game". I'll definitely be praying your levels raise enough to have birth at the center, if not, they you'll have a great hospital birth!

Thanks for the well wishes, I'm scheduled to go in at 2, but I'm going to call and see if they have anything early this morning just for kicks:) I'll probably know the results tomorrow or monday, and I'll keep you all posted. I'm going to prep diapers today or tomorrow and I got a bunch of nb clothes back from a friend yesterday so I have lots of washing to do! I'm getting excited to be done with this pregnancy, though I feel great so I'm a little worried I may just be prego forever!

Well ladies, I can't stop praying and eating like a nut just yet, but I've gotten them up from 83 to 90 in under a week of trying!! I'm SOOOOO excited that it's working, and I'm going to keep at it like a crazy person:) I'm still feeling good and not in a hurry to have him just yet. I'm working on a fruit bouquet this morning, and I hope that I can get someone to take some pics of me and the kids when I go to drop it off. I got my tiny fluff all washed up the other day, so I'll see if I can't take a bunch of pics and post some. Hope all is going well for the rest of you, enjoy your weekends, I probably won't be on much in the next couple days.

Wow, 83 to 90 is a big increase in a short time! If you keep at it, I think 100 may be doable before the birth!
