Thanks for the nice welcome.

I am doing a hospital VBAC using Hypnobabies. I really wanted to have a homebirth, but had no way to pay a midwife. I thought about unassisted, but the hospital is 45 minutes away in good traffic, so I was a bit uncomfortable with being that far from any medical personnel in the case of trouble.

I have two little girls, 4 and almost 3. This one is "supposed" to be a boy. I had a natural labor ending in an unecessary c-sec with #1, and a medicalized Vbac with #2. So this time, the plan is to put the better parts of each birth together, for a natural vaginal birth.

I'm a bit of a lurker, mostly because I don't like to post with nothing to say. And either I'm clueless, or someone has already said everything I would say. But I will attempt to be a bit more chatty. Smile

How wonderful that you were able to have a Vbac with your 2nd birth, I hope that this next one is everything you need it to be. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better Smile

The funny thing is, I had NO trouble getting a VBAC the first time. My insurance changed at 7 months, so the only place that would take me as a new patient that far along was the Public Health Department. I said I wanted vaginal, they read me a list of info off of the informed consent form, I signed, that was it. Oh, when I was induced at 42 weeks (still hadn't learned quite as much as I should have) the doc stopped by while they were hooking up the IV, and said there's an open OR if you want a c-sec. I said no and away he went. (i can understand why he made the offer)

This time I had to switch docs, had to interview a bunch, had to refuse proceedures, and I will most likely have to put my foot down and refuse to schedule an ercs at 41 weeks (this doc doesn't induce). I am fortunate at least, in that all of the local hospitals allow VBACs and several are at least moderately vbac friendly. But you'd think having done it once, it would be less of an issue. I've found 7 studies that state my risk factors are reduced by at least 50% since having a success. One says I am 7 times less likely to have a rupture.

I know I'm a bit late but just wanted to welcome you to your lodge! That's great that you've had a successful VBAC already! I hope this time it will be the best parts of your last two births!

I'm another step closer to getting the birth I want. My GBS came back negative, so I'll get a hep lock, instead of an IV. (need a needle in, cause when I get dehydrated, I'm hard to stick) Also after 2 1/2 months of fetal positioning exercises, baby is head down instead of transverse. He was just waaayy to comfy in his little pelvic hammock.

I want to cry, I hurt so badly. I had some pelvic discomfort in the later stages of my first two pregnancies, but what is going on this time is different by an order of magnitude. For months now I've had really strong pains in the the ligaments and tendons of my pelvis, in the last month it is very intense. Putting my legs together especially when sitting or lying down is terribly painful (the wider they are open the less painful it is).

On top of that, in the last week, since I went walking last weekend, I have developed a pain in the front right pelvic bone. It feels from my experience, EXACTLY like a stress fracture. If it is a stress fracture, there is nothing I can do about it.The method of diagnosis is nuclear bone scan, not a good idea when pregnant. The treatment is rest, well, it's not like I can take the pressure of the baby off the pelvis, unless I have a c-section, which is what I'm afraid my doc would push if I mention it.

I'm just gonna grit my teeth and hope he comes in three weeks instead of 5 or 6. And try to find a way to relieve at least the soft tissue pain. And pray, that if I do have a stress fracture (I'm pretty sure) it doesn't turn into a true fracture during labor, from the pressure. Sorry about the vent, ladies.

I know that it is actually meaningless, but I'm all excited. I am "officially" 38 weeks today, so anytime now....or now...how about now? J/K my others were 41 and 42 weeks, but, hey it could happen, right.:blob3:

Yes, it COULD happen! LOL! Congrats on making it to 38 weeks, I hope it's any day for you now! Like, NOW! Lol I'm in the same boat girl, I am ready now .... and now.... and now... lol. And to think, I used to tell myself I wasn't going to get antsy and would just let it be. I am SO antsy! It's crazy! And I'm a few days behind you!

I hope your pelvic pain eases up. I can only imagine how painful that must be... and frustrating. It's not like you can take anything for it, either. Surely Tylenol won't be of much help. Sigh. Almost there... you can do it!

I had a bit of a panic earlier today. As some of you know, this baby spent a lot of time fully transverse. After 10 weeks of Optimal Fetal Positioning exercises, he turned vertex about 3 weeks ago. Well, he went back to transverse for several hours today. Not something you want to feel at 38.5 weeks, especially when working so hard on a VBAC. I was sooo relieved when he turned again!

My 38 week appointment went really well. My BP was phenomenal 94/57, pretty much where it is when I'm not pregnant, and a definitely below last week's.

Another week, another check up. My OB seems really disappointed when I tell him nothing has changed, don't ask me why. It's another 2-3 weeks before he even wants to do extra monitoring, so I don't feel like he's pushing for the baby to hurry up and come. So 39 weeks and counting.

EDD is today

Well, here we are...the super important 40 weeks. Dirol So has anybody seen my boy? No? I guess he's decided to be fashonably late. So I guess I'll go on with my week as planned, maybe do a little thumb twiddling for fun.
