This morning I ate tons of pineapple (talk about stomach ache ) and DTD...The only thing that happened was I went BM twice in a day - which doesn't even happen when I'm not pregnant - and also felt some strong BH contractions.
The last BM brought on that pelvic pressure you feel when you want to push during labor - but, it was only reminiscent - I knew it wasn't real. Oh well, tomorrow is another day to try again! Spicy food is next on the list...
BTW, has anybody ever heard of eating mango to bring on labor? I have tons of dried mango, but I suspect it is fresh mango that maybe effective...
Hi! I'm getting in on this lodge so late but I'm glad I made it in time! I loved reading your intro and backstory! I recently moved to NH from VT (though I am from CA) and we go to Maine as often as we can. My DH works up there a couple of times a month, too.
Your daughters are so beautiful! I love the pic of you grabbing the pizza, too.
I have heard all kinds of things about various tropical fruits but I think it's supposed to be fresh. I have also been eating tons of spicy food this week but it doesn't seem to be bothering my system enough to do anything.
Yesterday I ate more pineapple - one piece was bad and sour as heck (ugh) next time I'll get a whole pineapple and cut it up myself! I also ate hot sauce or salsa on everything (except the fudge brownies my DH and DD made for me yesterday - yummy!) The hot/spicy foods don't seem to bring on anything, though. DTD last night and I felt a few contractions last night and this morning...nothing earth shattering, though.
I have a doctor's appt today since it's Ann's last day in the office before going on vacation...won't see her again until next Tuesday if/when the induction happens. I have my last growth U/S on Friday to see how big this little guy is now.
Wish me luck and LVs for a natural CB this week!!!! (or at least before next Tues! lol)
Is there a Thai restaurant near you? Som tam is a really spicy and yummy salad made with green papaya, which is, I believe, a natural source of pitocin. At least I was told by my doctor not to eat any during my pregnancy...
What a great intro! I loved the pizza eating pic . I've heard lots and lots of walking to get gravity to help....lots of ELV's!

Thinking of you today!
Thanks for the suggestions, ladies That Thai green papaya salad sounds absolutely yummy, Erin! The closest Thai restaurant that I know of just closed last month What stinky luck...I'll have to check the yellow pages for another one!
I had a doctor's visit this morning and I was rushing around with my 16 month old DD, running a little late, etc. and by the time I sat down in the exam room, my BP was 155/95. Ann took it again 5 minutes later and it came down, THANK GOD to 135/90. I convinced her it was the running around that caused it to spike (which I'm sure it was.) She checked my reflexes, my legs for swelling, and felt better after that. I have to go back in for BP check on Friday after my U/S - I won't have my DD for that appt, so my BP should be fine *whew!* I do NOT want to go through the MAG hell again like with my last DD...
She checked my cervix and said I'm a "loose" 2 cm dilated (almost 2.5 cm) and 50-60% effaced. She said the baby was VERY low, which I can feel, especially on the bladder and when I have a contraction...I can feel it in the front and back of the uterus which is kinda funky!
Well, I guess I'll be taking a nice long walk this afternoon and DTD tonight to speed things along - DH is LOVING THAT, of course
sounds like a great appt! Keep us posted!
Yesterday was such a great day, but such an awful day! I've had such a headache from the night before, all day and into this morning...I'm sure it's hormone related because it's like a stress headache, but Tylenol isn't touching it. I know it's not my HBP - that's reading fine. I've tried eating chocolate and some other comforting foods, but that hasn't worked either! Ugh...did I mention that I hate headaches?
As far as the GREAT part of my day yesterday, my 5 year-old DD Sameena was in a play at school put on by the K-2 grades. She was only one of two Kindergarten students who had a speaking role. The play/musical was "Of Mice and Mozart." It was SO ADORABLE to watch! The play was about Mozart's life from when he was a small boy prodigy to when he settled in Vienna, prospered, failed, then died. They sang 6 songs in Mozart's most recognizable melodies and recited a LONG poem about his life. My DD was mouse #24 and she was AWESOME - of course, since she's my daughter, I tend to be prejudiced I am so proud of her!
Anyway, due to the almost 2-day headache, I haven't felt much like trying to walk a lot or anything strenuous to jump start my labor...but tonight I plan on bouncing some more on the birthing ball, DTD and eating some hot sauce on my pizza
One thing I noticed all day yesterday and this morning - this LO has been moving around more in a couple days than he has the last couple of weeks? Has anyone else noticed a large increase in movement in their last weeks of pregnancy? I admit it's kinda painful, but I'm glad he's moving rather than not...
