I'm late joining in but I've really enjoyed catching up on your story. I love the part about Sameena's play - you must be very proud. That is such a pretty name BTW! I hope things start happening for you soon.
That play sounds so adorable! I find it harder to feel the baby move these days, but I think it's because I have so many contractions where she is moving but my belly is so hard it's harder for me to feel it. I was feeling her a lot before all this started. I think it's good that you feel your baby though. Sometimes I just sit and concentrate to make sure I can still feel her.
I love hearing about all the natural inducers you're trying. I hope they work for you soon.
I hadn't heard about mango being an inducer, but I'm not too surprised.
Sounds like yesterday was a good day for you. And how cute about your DD being a littel mouse in a play
My baby has been moveing a lot more than normal this past week too, I'm not sure what is up with that, but she did slow down yesterday. I'll have to wait and see what she is up to today.
Not much progress on my home methods for inducing labor...DTD on a daily basis and eating pineapple when I can stand it.
Sorry for TMI, but I must have strained during a bathroom break because I woke up yesterday with the WORST hemorrhoids I've had for all my pregnancies. I have 3 external ones- all on the same side of my "o-ring." So, bouncing on the birthing ball is out of the question for a few days! They hurt so bad by the end of the day yesterday, I cried and felt like such a schmuck! I've been treating them with witch hazel and ointment...keeping my feet up today should help them - I hope!
I had an U/S and Dr. Appt yesterday morning, which didn't go so well at first. I managed to dodge another a trip to L&D *whew* My initial BP reading was elevated at my appt on Monday, so my doc wanted me to have a re-check Friday after my U/S.
The first BP the nurse took was 154/90, which is quite high for me - I didn't understand it because I was able to sit down for at least 10 minutes before I had it checked - I wasn't rushing around or anything. My urine had a trace of protein, nothing to be alarmed about. I have gained 3 lbs since Monday, but we've had unusually humid and warm weather the past 2 days and I know I gained at least 5 lbs of water weight due to just that. The nurse waited about 10 minutes and took my BP again and it was 145/90 - an improvement, right?
My doc is on vacation until Tuesday, so I saw another doc named Kitty. She asked me all the questions - do I have a headache, visual changes, upper quadrant pain, SOB...no, no, no, no - I actually felt GREAT for being a big-ole pregnant lady! She checked my legs for swelling, which was non-existent. Kitty took my BP and it was 140/90 - another improvement? I was happy it was going down, but Kitty wasn't happy with it. I told her that my doc (Ann) wanted to schedule an induction on Monday, 5/12 due to a combo of growth and past BP issues, and Kitty questioned if I should be induced NOW due to the HBP. I told her I feel GOOD, this is my last day of work and maybe the excitement of that has increased my pressure a little bit? I explained that I was induced with my other 2 due to HBP and I felt AWFUL when I was induced - I had other symptoms like edema, headaches, yadda, yadda, yadda. Kitty thought about it and said since I wasn't experiencing any other signs of pre-e, that she will suggest I rest this weekend but go ahead with the induction on Monday. She ordered some labwork to be sure that my HBP wasn't causing any issues with my liver or kidneys - I haven't heard anything back, so no news is good news!
So, I am on bedrest for the weekend until my induction, which I am not sad about - after all, it is Mother's Day weekend But, I have to avoid salty foods - no chinese or thai food But all the sugar I can eat!
As far as my U/S, Colton looks great! He's very active, doing lots of practice breathing and my AF levels are good. He's estimated to be between 8.5 and 9 lbs. which feels about right, movement wise, anyway!
I still have my fingers crossed that I'll go into labor this weekend and have my baby boy before Monday - That would be the ULTIMATE Mother's Day gift for me! If not, to at least have a VERY ripe cervix so the induction can be as med-free as possible...
I hope that your BP goes down! Stay away preeclampsia!
Oh, I hope you do have a Mother's Day baby!! That would be great!
I am so hoping that things will get moving for you this weekend. Good luck!
Well, I had a lovely Mother's Day weekend with my family - DH waited on me hand and foot since I'm on the dreaded bedrest regimen, which has also hindered any exercise to help me induce labor Although, I ate a bunch of hot chicken wings today that did something to my abdominal region Not sure if it was ctx or just intestinal upset! Oh well - They were yummy anyway!
Guess I'll try one last ditch attempt with DTD tonite and see what happens. I get induced tomorrow evening so if that is the route I must take, so be it!
Hope all you Mommies and Mommies-to-be had a wonderful Mother's Day!!!
Good luck tomorrow! Maybe you will be one of the many women who go into labor just before they head in for their induction! Or at least that you're very very ripe and only need a nudge to put you over the edge.
I'll be thinking about you!
