Okay, I'll post what I think I'm supposed to here and if I leave anything out, just ask!!

I'm 24 years old and I've been with my DH since November of 2001 ( since we were 17 and 18 ). I was still in high school and we went to prom together, we've really grown up together. I think we get along better now than we ever did! It just keeps getting better!

Well after high school I went straight to college, we lived with my parents to save money and DH worked to support all my needs not supplied by my parents (and then some, I was pretty spoiled). We moved into our own place in March 2007 and I then graduated from nursing school in June 2007.

We both knew we wanted kids but that we wanted to wait awhile (so we thought). Our friends were all having babies though which kind of sparked the interest a little more. We were engaged on my 23rd birthday - August 23 2007 and planning to be married November 15, 2008 (2 weeks before what would be our 7 year dating anniversary).

In that same month, August, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I was started on Synthroid. I always had perfect, regular periods. We monitored my cycles as we preferred to not use protection and used this as our birth control. Well come September, I thought I wasn't getting my period. I was hesitant to mention it to BF at the time and put off mentioning it for a few days to see if it would come. It didn't! So I finally went and told him and he said "well lets go buy a test", he wasn't upset, scared anything! So that was a big relief. We took a test and it was negative, I was SOOOOO disappointed. I'm not even sure why because I didn't feel ready to be pregnant but then when I wasn't - I was devastated, almost felt like a loss. I would watch videos of babies on youtube and be so sad. So needless to say, my clock started ticking!! October and November periods were normal and then December's was a little off again - tested again - again negative (less disappointing this time as I expected it).

    NOW THE EXCITING PART!!
In January DH wanted to DTD. I told him "this isn't a good time, I'm very close to ovulating" to which he replied "thats okay, I want to have a baby". So we DTD!! Come time for my period, a few days before, I had just pink spotting. Then the day before (might have been a little more) I decided to test, I woke up and went in to take it. I called DH in and asked if that was a blue line, he thought I was calling him in for TP. We were both in total shock!! Could not believe it was positive! We went to walgreens - bought fancier tests, went to borders and bought "What to Expect" went home and it was confirmed!!

Early in the pregnancy, 6 weeks, I started having HORRIBLE pain on my side. Well I had to work that night, so being brave and no one knowing, I just forced myself to work - and had a really busy night 7p-7a. I got home that morning and told DH I was still having the horrible pain and he suggested we go to the ER. At that point I broke down and gave up my denial and was sure I was having an ectopic pregnancy. Well after an ultrasound and blood work, I was definitely pregnant and it wasn't ectopic - just a normal cyst of pregnancy which never bothered me again after we left. I think they popped it with all the poking and pushing they did.

We went ASAP to a special ultrasound place here so we could find out the gender. Everyone thought it was a girl!! Then we found out, IT'S A BOY! It was so much more exciting I think because it was truly a surprise. So we went to Babies R Us and bought a REALLY soft blue blanket, our first gift for the baby! Then we showed the video to the family and surprised all of them!! I'm really excited to be having a boy because all of our friends have boys also!!

Back in October we had gone to a builder in a town an hour away and started having a house built, we were so excited about the house, except the drive!! When we found out we were pregnant I was so excited, I had already picked which room would be for baby and now we actually were going to have a baby to put in there!! Then 2 months before closing, we realized we didn't want to be so far away from work, major medical care, our parents, etc and decided to not take the house. We ended up finding a house for rent that is PERFECT for us and much closer to family and only 5 mins from the hospital and 15 from the children's hospital.

    Okay, I'm almost done. . .
So when researching OB's we kind of had a hard time. DH really wanted to go with someone more natural - midwife like. I was under the impression I wouldn't get the same medical care and was more comfortable going to a traditional OB. So we did, and at first we liked him a lot. Well 26 weeks into the pregnancy, I was miserable with my doctor and his staff. We HATED it there!! So we ended up going to the natural OB that DH had originally picked and of course, we LOVE it!! (Who knew?) I was also much more educated on natural birth/practices and had learned they do everything (labs, ultrasounds, etc) the same as an OB practice.

DH and I before the first visit and a pic of the ultrasound:

It was very important to me to be married and have my name changed before baby came. DH and I had decided to just go to the courthouse and get married, change my name, then have a small family dinner or something to celebrate. My MIL and SIL did not like that idea at all!! So we ended up planning a quick wedding (4 1/2 months pregnant) and it turned out beautiful and perfect!!

Now we are just waiting for our LO to arrive! We can't wait to meet him and we're so in love with him already!

    A few pics!!

37 weeks and 4 days today. Went to my OB appointment and I'm 1cm dilated! I'm so excited!! She said he's face down for sure because my cervix is centered, still a little long though!

Congrats on your lodge, and your little boy! Your story was so much fun to read, and I can't wait to see how your birth goes. Maybe he'll be born on your 3 month anniversary?
