I'm going to think about it more and probably not push it. Thanks for all your support!

I'm glad you are going to put more thought into it, I know it is sooo tempting to jump when you hear you can have your baby in a week, I'd be tempted too!!! Heck I've even been reading about natural induction methods myself lately, but I think I'm gonna try to just be patient, God will send me my baby when she is good and ready to come out! After you finish with the Ina May book if you still have time you should pick up "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a better birth" (i think thats what its called) by Henci Goer. I haven't read the whole thing but I browsed through it for about an hour at the bookstore and it has all the medical facts and tells about all the interventions that they can do and stuff, I know a lot of girls here highly recommend it, I think it would make you think twice about being induced also. Good luck with whatever you decide!!!

I am in the middle of reading "Husband-Caoched Childbirth" by Dr. Bradley and, I swear, last night read that the average pregnancy goes to 41w 1d. The 40 week mark is just what they go by because it's easier (even number.)

Try walking - a LOT! Good luck, I hope you are able to avoid induction.

Just wanted to pop in and say that my first labor was induced at 40 weeks 5 days and I wish I hadn't done it. While it all turned out ok, it was the major reason I ended up over here and with a midwife the second time around. My recovery was long and hard, and it seemed that once she had my permission to induce she felt like it was her show. I hope your little one is early and you don't even have to worry about it! We're here for you no matter what and wish you all the best.

My DH is hell bent on we can still deliver a healthy baby 2 weeks after my DD. So I have his support. I know if I make it 40 weeks they will talk about inducing me, so I'm bringing him along as my back up! hang tough you can do it!

I agree with PP everyday after 37 weeks has felt like a year! I can't imagine every day after 40!

Sure hope you don't have to be induced. Keep informing yourself, and ask questions.

Nicole, your husband would be great backup - he looks like he could get his way when he sets his mind to something!

You are so not alone in being impatient!! I'm right there with you, very frustrated that I'm ready and I don't know why baby is not, but hang in there! We can be impatient together.

I'm hoping he sticks to his stubborness when things get tuff during labor! But I have total faith in him!
