Wonderful intro! Your DD is so cute I enjoyed your story and your pictures. How long was your first labor and how early was she born? Can't wait to see when you make her a big sis!

Brynn was due on 3/11 (funny since my due date now is 11/3)

She had measured behind the whole pregnancy, so I had convinced myself she would be here in the 3/20's.

My first day of Maternity leave was 3/1/2007 and wouldnt you know it....my water broke at 3pm that day!

Lets see if memory serves me correctly I went from

"Oh, I think that was a contraction" @ 5or6-ish. But I am not totally sure. I know that DH went home before my contractions started and came back around 6:30 and I was having contractions, but I didnt really need to focus at that point.

She was born at 10:59pm. So total of about 4-5 hours since there was such a grey area of when the contractions started.

But, I always question how much of that speed was due to my water breaking. But, I do have a family history of speedy deliveries. I think the longest labor of my 2 sisters was 6 hours? that sounds about right.

We will find out what fate has in store for me.

The thing that worries me...is that I dont want to rush to the hospital only to find a slower labor and risk interventions...but then again...I dont want to labor too long at home and find myself with an unplanned homebirth, okay, thats prob over board. But you know what I mean.

LOL, I was totally worried about as well. Even told my MW I didn't want her coming to just sit around. Well my 9 pound boy came after 3.5 hrs as compared to my 4 hr labor with my 6 pd 5 oz daughter. You just never know, but seeing as you are my "pelvic twin" I predict a short labor for you this time as well. (Especially since Audrey is low and ready to go ).

From what I've heard, your water breaking first doesn't really have much to do with how long your labor is. I think you'll probably go pretty fast again. If you go to the hospital and are not very advanced in labor, you can always leave and go back when you're closer.

My exact concern, too. Although I'd rather give birth at home than in a car!

I have a feeling you won't be there too early, just like everyone else If I were you I'd go on over as soon as things got going, unless your doc is close and you could stop into the office and have them check your progress. I think I'd pop in to the office if I was in labor during the day?
