Congratulations! I hope you are feeling better!
Just checking on you hun, hope your enjoying your babymoon:)
Sorry I haven't been able to post here... still trying to wrap my head around how everything turned out. Thank you all for the well wishes. Daniel is such a blessing.
That said, I didn't get my natural birth, but I did have some amazing nurses who helped me through over 8 1/2 hours of pitocin with breathing and water therapy alone. I'm grateful for the time I had to feel like I did something on my own.
Due to D's repeated drop in heartrate after those 8 1/2 hours we opted for an epidural in the hopes that both like with Patrick I would progress much faster (I only gained 1 cm difference at that point) and D's heartrate would stabilize if I wasn't in as much pain.
I'm still not up to writing a full account of his birth, but suffice to say his shoulder got stuck and he stayed at -2 station until delivery, which tore me up inside and out but I at least had him without a c/s - though not by much.
He's beautiful and healthy aside from a possible broken collarbone, nurses like a champ, and has already gained over a pound. I couldn't have asked for a better baby, and its so different to have a healthy alert baby.
Again, thank you for the well wishes, ladies. Its appreciated. I hope sometime soon I'll be able to post our story here, but for now I'll be watching and hoping you all have wonderful births.
You did awesome to do the pitocin for 8 1/2 hours! I'm sorry Daniel had a difficult time being born, but I'm glad he's healthy and gaining weight. Congratulations again on a beautiful baby.
Amanda I just got a chance to read your stories! So much to have to have gone through! I hope you and family are doing well, can't wait to hear the detailed version of what happened!
